EXAM REVIEW
Your exam is a very important part of your final grade, it is weighted 20%. You should
prepare yourself, not only mentally, but also in terms of the course content.
Part I. Studying. Studying is a vital aspect in your exam preparation. You'll want to review your
notes, examine your text, and write summaries of the stories we have read. In addition you'll
want to study your vocabulary words for lessons 1-15. You will turn in your Vocabulary
Workbook for extra credit. All textbooks must be turned in by January 7th. Your exam in
January 10th.
Important Study Reminders:
Budget Your Time--once you're familiar with the exam schedule, you're now ready to
establish a study schedule.
Organize Your Materials--once you've established a study schedule, you're now ready to
organize all of you course material into a clear and logical sequence. Good organization of your
materials can be a key to your success.
Make Up Possible Test Questions--One way to study is to make up possible test questions
and their answers.
Know What To Expect--Ask questions during the exam review period, set up a time before
or after school to meet with me if you're having problems. Study your exam review sheets.
Part II. What To Expect.--Your exam is divided into VOCABULARY, NOVELS, LITERARY TERMS,
SHORT STORIES/NONFICTION, THE EPIC, DRAMA AND SAMPLE SOL COURSE
MATERIAL. The questions are True/False, Matching and Multiple Choice. There is also a
short answer section and an essay question.
