Job Purpose: To provide a reception service when other Library staff are not on duty.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities

1. Receive and respond to a range of enquiries, using computers and other
equipment, communicating clearly to customers in a courteous manner. Apply
knowledge of established practices and procedures, taking the customers
perceived needs into account.

2. Carry out a range of prescribed administrative tasks to support Library policies
and procedures, e.g. card access, the maintenance of statistics and room
bookings and various alarms.

3. Attend to various types of equipment to facilitate their use by customers and
maintain service delivery.
4. Contributes to service consistency, quality and development by communicating
with team colleagues and manager.

Internal & External Relationships:
With appropriate Library colleagues regarding referrals, queries, or procedures and practices.
Liaises with Security staff with regard to matters of Health & Safety, customer behaviour and security.
