City of Belfast SC- Aquasprint Information 2015/6
Home galas will be at Andersonstown with warm up times of 4.30pm, start time 5pm to be finished swimming
by 6pm ish (6.30pm at the latest). Refreshments are then provided by us. It expected that the away galas will
have similar start times.
Bit of background:
For those of you that are new to Aquasprints a bit of back ground:
These are really good fun events, fast moving and noisy.
There are 4 age Groups:




A - born in 2007 or later
B - born in 2006
C - born in 2005
D - born in 2004
The coaches will pick the team in the weeks running up to each gala. The size of the team depends partly on
the number of swimmers we have available in each age group. Sometimes swimmers may swim up an age
group for a particular gala.
Races for each age group:






4 x 25m medley relay (2 boys & 2 girls per team)
25m backstroke (individual)
25m breaststroke (individual)
25m butterfly (individual)
25m freestyle (individual)
4 x 25m freestyle relay (2 boys & 2 girls per team)
Each club has up to 3 lanes of swimmers.
For each gala we need parent volunteers to help poolside (timekeeping/ scoring etc) In addition, at home
galas we provide refreshments after the competition, which parents will be asked to bring. Your help will be
very much appreciated.

Availability
If if you know your swimmersis not going to be available for any of the dates please let me know as soon as
possible. If you son/daughter is in a team but you can't get them there will always be someone that can give
them a lift.
