Persuade Me to…
SOL 6.7 The student will write narration, description, exposition, and persuasion.
The purpose of persuasive writing is to convince others to purchase your product by using facts, examples, and reasons.
You can find examples of persuasive (argumentative) writing for you to analyze and help you create your magazine
advertisement or commercial such as: a letter to the editor of a newspaper, a magazine advertisement, internet/website
advertisements, radio commercials, and television commercials.
Be sure to research similar products and also research the need for your product in today’s society. If you use researched
information in your writing, you must include a properly-sourced (MLA format) bibliography.
Part One : Advertise you! (50 points)
Task: You will be creating a product to sell that will solve an everyday problem you have at home or at
school. Or develop a new product that will help your parents and family. Write a one-two paragraph letter to the
owner of the media source you would like to use to advertise your product: magazine editor, TV channel executives,
website domain owner. You are persuading them to accept your product to be advertised using their media outlet.
