The Membership and Event Coordinator will be responsible for working on establishing and managing the membership component
of Run Ottawa encompassing activities and communications for Run Ottawa members. The position will also encompass
developing and organizing activities/communications targeted at enhancing the influence of Run Ottawa outside of the
membership.
Summary: The Membership and Event Coordinator will be responsible for organizing, managing and promoting Run Ottawa events,
activities and communications servicing both members and the local running community.

Main duties
Participation and Event Coordinator perform some or all of the following duties:
•Complete a full and complete audit of the current Membership Database.
•Maintain and update membership and participant database.
•Working with the Run Ottawa Team, the M&EC will establish a new membership plan based on tangible benefits and
incentives.
•Develop and promote established running events targeted at members and non-members with the goals of servicing existing
members, attracting new members and to influence the running community in general.
•Develop and organize social events/participation runs for members and non-members.
•Develop and organize run-hosting opportunities with Run Ottawa partners, e.g. Ottawa Congress Centre, Tourism Ottawa and
other large organizations that host major conferences in the city.
•Develop and manage a membership reward program for Run Ottawa volunteers.
•Develop an Awards Program for Run Ottawa events
•Manage website communication members & nonmembers on activities offered in partnership with the Media/Marketing
director
•Establish and manage social media platforms for Run Ottawa in real time. e.g. Twitter and Facebook with support from Event
Manager and Marketing Director.
•Provide full and complete post event reports to the Run Ottawa team after each and every RO event and activity.
