Lesson 2 – Proving a Quadrilateral is a Parallelogram
 In small groups prove the four methods to prove a quadrilateral is a
parallelogram.
 Finish filling out parallelogram flashcard
HW: Worksheet: Proving a Quad is a P-gram and Pset questions: 7 & 8
Lesson 3 – Proving a Quadrilateral or Parallelogram is a R, R, S, K, IT
 In small groups work on proving R, R, S, K, IT.
 Learn short cuts to proving R, R, S, K, IT without using the definition.
HW: Worksheet: Proving a Quad is a R, R, S, K, IT and Pset questions: 10-13, study for quiz
Lesson 4 – A few Triangle Theorems and a Quiz
 Quiz on properties of quadrilaterals and proving parallelograms
 Prove there are 180 degrees in a triangle – ext. angle equality
 Prove the No-Choice Thm and thus why AAS works.
HW: pg. 298: 2, 3, 5, 17, 18, 21, Continue working on Problem set!
Lesson 5 – Angles in a Polygon
 Go over quiz from last class
 Begin working on Angles in a Polygon packet
HW: Take home quiz
Lesson 6 – Finish Angles in a Polygon Packet
 Determine the sum of the interior angles of any polygon
 Practice proving theorems using algebra
 Determine the measure of a single interior angle in a regular polygon
HW: Finish Packet and complete attached practice problems
Lesson 7 – Ch. 5 Problem Set Due, Discuss Regular Polygons and the Research Project
 Practice with regular polygons
 Hand out research project and talk about mathematical research/discovery
HW: Work on research project with small group & pg. 316: 1-4, 5, 6 (you may use algebraic
proofs)

1 – Proofs with props of quadrilaterals
Fill out flashcards for properties
Go over exam
2 – Proving parallelograms – in class with small groups show that 2 sets cong. sides, 2 sets
opp angles cong., 1 set sides, 1 set angles or 1 set cong and parallel sides will prove a
parallelogram by definition. HW – proving parallelograms using those pieces.
3 – Proving quadrilaterals – rhombi, rectangles, squares, kites, isos traps.
Rectangles – Definition + Parallelogram with 1 right angle.
Rhombus – Definition + Parallelogram with perp. diagonals
Square – Defintion + Rhombus and Rectnagle
Kite – Definition
Isos. Trap – Definition + Parallel sides with base angles cong. + parallel sides and
cong diagonals (tricky proof)
In class prove that each work, so the other thing makes the definition work.
4 – Questions, Quiz, on props and proving p-grams, and proving quads (basic q here), prove
180 degrees in a triangle.
5 – Review quiz, No-choice and why AAS works. begin angles in a polygon discovery. HW
take home quiz on proving quads.
6 – Finish angles in a polygon activity. This should include regular polygon stoofs. Packet
finish for homework, plus practice problems.
7 – Regular polygon work, give research project on polygons, Pset Due
8 – Review Day
9 – Test Ch. 5/7 Research Due
