• If you CAN exit your room: Close the door behind you, pull a fire alarm if you
pass one and go to the predetermined roll call location.
• DO NOT USE ELEVATORS to exit a building.

Predatory Drugs
Incident:
There has been a recent incident at an off campus party where
there is evidence that a drug had been deliberately placed in the drink of an
unsuspecting student. The victim was rendered physically helpless. This act
constitutes a FELONY assault and police are investigating.
The use of
predatory drugs is illegal and creates a significant risk of serious injury,
possible death and exposure to sexual assault.
Predatory Drugs: There
are several predatory drugs that include:
Ecstasy, Rohypnol and GHB. Street names include: ruffies, rope, potatoes,
roaches, liquid X, G-juice and vita-G. These illegal drugs create serious health
risks, especially when combined with alcohol.
Effects:
When mixed with alcohol various effects include: respiratory
distress, long term memory loss, confusion, nausea, blackouts, seizure,
unconsciousness, coma and possible death.
Safety Tip: These drugs
come in various forms including liquid, powder
and tablets and are difficult to detect.
DO NOT:

Leave beverages unattended
Drink from a common container
Drink from a container that was not opened by you
Attend or leave any party alone

Rabies Information
What is rabies and how do people get it?
•An infectious viral disease that affects the nervous system
•Caused from a bite of an animal with rabies. Any wild mammal, such as a raccoon, skunk, fox,
coyote or bat can have rabies and transmit it to people.
•Small rodents, such as squirrels, rats, mice, hamsters and chipmunks, are almost never found
to be infected with rabies and have not been known to cause rabies in humans
How to protect yourself?
Prevent bats from entering living quarters – do not leave doors propped open or open
unscreened windows.
What to do if come in contact or are bitten?
•Wash the affected area thoroughly and get medical attention.
•If possible, contain the bat by closing all windows and doors and call Campus Safety
immediately at ext. 5566.
•So, if you awaken and find a bat in your room, contact Campus Safety because the animal
must be captured to test…or you will need treatment.
