Other Notes
• Over $12 million in partner contributions
– Up 19% over 2011-2012
• 27,199 parents attended events throughout
the year
– 15 attended per event, up from 10 in 2011-2012
• 85% of programs operated summer programs
• Every single program submitted its report on
time!

Achievements for Georgia
• Received no findings during the state audit
• Afterschool and Youth Development Conference
– Next one is in Augusta from October 8-10, 2014
– Beyond School Hours is in Atlanta from February
12-15, 2014
• Through June, we made 1,855 site visits
• Providing additional year of funding for 25 FY11
subgrantees
– 6,000 students and 5,500 parents

Two Major Challenges
• Spending enough of the money on time
– As of July 12, our programs had drawn down
58.36% of awarded FY13 funding
• Serving the target number of students per day
as identified in the grant
– 39/71 agencies were serving less than 70% of
their proposed ADA

ADA vs Regular Attendee
• Regular attendee (30+ days) is the measure
USED uses as the cutoff point to determine
program effectiveness
– Have to collect data on all regular attendees
• ADA is the number of students your program
will serve per day
– Proposed by the program and directly tied to the
funding amount

• Anticipate around $20-24 million available for
new subgrants
• Will be released on August 26, 2013 and due
on January 29, 2014
• Online or hard copy submission

• Attendance Requirement
– Can only propose to serve up to 120% of your
FY14 ADA, if targeting identical population
• Can only receive maximum of five FY15
awards per fiscal agent
– This only would have affected one fiscal agency in
the past three years
• Maximum of $350,000
