Communications Lecturer Position The University of Wisconsin-Barron County (http://barron.uwc.edu) invites applications for a part-time instructor position in Communications for Spring 2016 (with the possibility for rehire in the Fall 2016 semester). UW-Barron County is one of 13 campuses that comprise the UW Colleges (http://uwc.edu), a freshman-sophomore transfer institution within the UW System. The UW Colleges offer an excellent liberal arts and pre-professional education for students beginning work toward a bachelor’s degree. Position/Course Description Teaching responsibilities will be one or more of the following courses (descriptions are available at http://uwc.edu/catalog/courses): - CTA 101: Introduction to Interpersonal Communication CTA 103: Introduction to Public Speaking CTA 201: Introduction to Mass Communication Other courses in Communication if needed Instructor will prepare course syllabi, teach courses, hold office hours for students, and participate in department assessment activities. Qualifications Master’s Degree is required Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success and proven excellence in teaching diverse undergraduate college students Additional qualifications include experience teaching via live interactive video and/or teaching college courses in high schools under dual credit programs Salary Salary and Instructional Academic Staff rank (Associate Lecturer, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer) are dependent on highest degree held and amount of experience.
