 Discussions regarding fund raising initiatives
o Fall Fair – not enough time to put it together
o One movie had more money than the other last year (Lego Movie & Frozen)
o Grocery cards are for large fund raising goals (currently we have no large goal)
o Signage was discussed
 $20,000 digital signage for school & PAC use
 Plywood signage to let parents know of PAC meeting that night
o Canadian Tire Money
 Helped purchase saucers (for sledding)
o Suggestion a sub-committee for fund raising
 Erin Koorbatoff stepping down from Chair
President Report by Mr Hurley
 Report handed out at meeting which Mr Hurley went through
 Kitchen discussions (re: new kitchen for daily hot lunch program)
 Discussions regarding the large amount of split classes
 Class rooms this year – 9, Class rooms last year – 10
 Students this year – 217, Students last year – 237
 Cell Phone and IPod (and other electronic devices) discussion
o Proposal for usage by students of BK

o Parents divided on subject
o Wifi is available on school grounds (some parents not aware)
o The proposal will next be given to the teachers, then back to PAC
 Requesting money for Math Manipulatives - $300 a class room
o To be discussed at future PAC meeting
 Requesting money for Imagination and Creativity
o $300 to $400 for recycle materials (wire, packing material...)
o Possible date in the Spring
 Winter Concert date – December 18, 2014

o Tuesday Wednesday Thursday (Wed for Oct, Thur for Nov, Tues for Dec)

o Next meeting scheduled for November, 6th at 6:30pm (Thursday)

 UPDATE: On Oct 14 2014, Rebecca Scown created a new email addres for PAC:

 PAC is not an employee of SD8 so we could not have a “...@SD*.bc.ca email address
Meals – Hot Lunch
 Holly Mackie will continue with Hot Lunches with help
 Rebecca Scown is purchasing for the hot lunch program
 New ordering format is excellent (for Holly and Parents)
 New menu ideas requested
 Fall Hot Lunch details
o Only 16 paper orders this fall
o Almost everyone has paid
o Over $4000 in orders
o 149 orders entered
o 99.3% on line
 Next order to be sent home before Christmas which will run until Spring Break
 Looking into online payments for next year
