 Hand out Outsiders books. Have students read
182-end of book, then complete S.E. Hinton
worksheet (can do for homework the night before)
 Show Realistic Fiction PPoint
 If time, begin reading aloud Ch 1 using QUACKS
OBJ: Learn to read purposefully with written responses
 Go over ques 1-4 (ch 1,2- enotes study guide ques, p13)
while students take notes (quiz questions)
 Hand out Student response journals-they put in binders.
 Students choose 3 – 4 questions and journal. Each
student then shares one response with class. Turn in
 If time, begin reading aloud Ch 2 using QUACKS
OBJ Discuss themes, share personal responses to book
 Go over ques 5-9 (ch 1,2 enotes study guide ques, p 13)
while students take notes (quiz over Ch 1&2 next class)
 Students take out response journals choose 3 – 4
questions and journal. Each student then shares one
response with class. Turn in
