EDL/DST 315: Memoir Assignment

Read one of the memoirs listed below that are by and about disability, and write a book report that does the following:

Presents a concise summary and overview of the memoir topic. What is it about? Who wrote it? This includes a relevant description of the topic as well as its overall perspective, argument, or purpose.

Offers a critical assessment of the memoir. This involves your reactions to the work under review: what strikes you as noteworthy, effective or persuasive, and to what extent has it enhanced your understanding of the broader topic?

Describes your own personal reaction to the book. Did you like it? What did you learn about disabilities in the present and the past? Would you recommend it to others?

Follows proper writing conventions. Is titled with the author, title, and publication information of the book. Perfect grammar and spelling; attention to detail; no mistakes.

Follows APA style, 4-5 double-spaced pages in 12 point font, 1” margins. Evidence that paper has been proofread for minor errors.
