To inform all middle school principals, assistant principals, and teachers about the National Oceanic and

Atmospheric Administration Open House Invitation for middle school teachers and students.

The Department of Mathematics and Science is informing all middle school principals, assistant principals, and teachers about the National Oceanic and Atmospheric

Administration (NOAA) Open House Invitation for middle school teachers and students, May

14-16, 2015.

The open house will be an interactive experience, rotating throughout each NOAA facility, and the University of Miami Rosenstiel School’s new Marine Technology and Life Sciences

Seawater Complex, for a total visit time of approximately 4 hours. Students will also have the opportunity to visit the MAST Academy Land SHARC and Weather on Wheels mobile outreach programs during the open house.

Topics will include hurricane research, climate science, oceanography, local fisheries, coral communities, and endangered species research.

Advance on-line registration is required by May 1, 2015 . Visit www.aoml.noaa.gov/outreach to register. NOAA can only accommodate a limited number of students on each day, so register early.

Schools must select three (3) dates in order of preference to attend the presentation.

Dates/Times: Thursday and Friday, May 14-15, 2015, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (for school groups) and Saturday May 16, 2015, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (for the public)
