Starts with Me awards
• Would like ability to accumulate to greater awards
• Give all team members the opportunity to be recognized
 More clear and specific criteria
• Specify the difference between the award types
• Provide examples of appropriate and meaningful nominations

Lela went above and beyond in assisting me with a letter of credit. I had not
done a letter of credit before, and my customer needed the process
completed in a rush. Lela was more than happy to educate me about the
process and understood that I needed things processed quickly. Her attitude
was always positive, and she really partnered with me to get this done
quickly for my customer. As a result of Lela’s excellent teamwork and
dedication to the task at hand, my customer had a "WOW" experience. I

Shining Star – Nomination Example
Dawn is a vital part of our team, and her contributions are numerous. Dawn
is highly dedicated to our Q12 and diversity initiatives. She presents
different topics in many of our team meetings. Sometimes these topics can
be difficult to present, but she handles the topics with the class and respect
they deserve. Recently, she led us through an exercise to better understand
the strengths of everyone on our team. As a result, we now know who to
partner with on tasks that might be difficult or challenging to complete.
Everything she does becomes a truly memorable occasion. Dawn is a great
team member, great co-worker and someone I consider to be a great friend.
I can always count on her to give me a straight answer to any question I
ask, and she is the first to raise her hand to help on a project. Thank you,
Dawn, for being yourself and providing all that you do for our team.

Star Manager – Nomination Example
I’ve had the privilege of working with Chris for almost two years. I couldn’t
have asked for a better boss and role model – he is committed to working
as a team. I don’t think Chris realizes he is a teacher at all times - to him
there really is no such thing as a “stupid question.” I have seen him knee
deep in conference calls, projects and deadlines and still he will make the
time to talk to a team member that needs to meet with him. Witnessing this
has been awesome for me. Chris’ commitment and support of diversity,
education, mentoring and training is obvious in his daily actions. He always
treats everyone as equals and with respect. Another amazing thing about
Chris is when he talks to people or co-workers at any level, he talks to that
person, not judging them first by their status or ranking. Keep doing what
your doing Chris, because it works!

active role in bringing diversity awareness to everyone. He has even taken
on the role of presenting diversity topics to the department twice a month.
The topics are wide ranging and have created some outstanding
discussions. The example that John is setting for the team takes diversity
from a topic that is discussed to a way of life within the department. Thank
you, John!

23
Star Team – Nomination Example
Emma and her team really made the recent BLAST covenant enhancement
process a success, and I could not have gotten through the requirements,
testing and process without them. Each team member provided their own
individual support in either walking me through Net Meetings on how to
complete various functions within BLAST, testing functionality and following
up on items that made the difference in sign off. They were all supportive
and a terrific resource on the who, what, when and where of the UAT cycle.
Thank you all for your efforts and willingness to assist. You are truly a star
team!
24

The Nomination Game
Nomination #1:
Angie, I am nominating you because of what you did to help me today. I
requested your assistance with a pre-approval certificate. Although it was
time for you to go home for the day, you took your time to assist me. You
assisted me with a smile and the extraordinary business partner skills that
you possess. Thank you so much.
26
The Nomination Game
Nomination #2:
I appreciate the time you took to review my spreadsheet. After looking at
the data for two days, everything began to look the same. It was nice to
have a fresh pair of eyes to double check my work. I am more confident in
the accuracy of the spreadsheet because of your help.
27
The Nomination Game
Nomination #3:
I am nominating Chad for his outstanding performance as a business phone
banker. As a neighbor and team member, I am always overhearing his
incredible customer service. He has all of the determination that a phone
banker needs to be successful. I have learned a lot about what it means to
be a business banker from Chad’s examples. He willingly shares his tips
and advice to help me grow in what I want to do. He even offered to let me
sit and observe some of his calls. Thank you, Chad, for all the ways you
have helped me.
