Urban tribes
 Urban tribes are those gangs, street gangs or just
groups of young people who dress alike, have common
habits and hangouts. When individuals voluntarily
gather for the pleasure of being together or finding the
similar, it is a band.
 The tribes authorize activities that are at the limits of
moral and social rules: the game, drink, scandal
¿What are the urban tribes?
 Urban tribes are those gangs, who dress alike, have
common habits and hangouts. An urban tribe involves
looking at the ways congeners thinking and feeling
similar to their own.
The tribes began in the sixties, this term was coined
by the formation of groups, appeared that disagreed
with the politics, religion and societal problems,
showing their displeasure, dressing and acting
differently, going against society and the rules
The classification is:
 Emos: They are derived from post-hardcore, it has the
characteristic of having a much slower, melodic sound
and melancholy.

 Pelolais: This group was created by and for women,
but in today also found in men is much governed by
aesthetics.

 Flaites: It was created in Argentina; to qualify for the
lower class, who are people with little education, listen
to reggaeton, hip-hop, cumbia and ranchera
 Gothic: They have a couple attire, ie only wear dark
colors, black and derivatives. They have an obsession
with black magic, death, dark poetry and dark
clothing.
 Otakus: Born in the 80s and was created to show
some marginality to some people. They are a fans of
Japanese culture.

 Gamers: These teens spend on video games and plays

 Pokemones: Similar to emos, although based more
on aesthetics and a more positive view of life culture.
The Pokemon in Chile emerged around the years
2006-2008.
 Hipster: hipsters is represented by young, mostly aged
between 20 and 35, which show independent thinking,
trying to move away from the fashions of the time.
 Raperos: are young people who like the music genre
of rap and hip-hop. It dates back to the 70s, when the
rap comes in the slums of New York.. The highlight of
this culture is that along with your music, spreading a
message against injustice system
 Rockeros: They are characterized by known
throughout the world since the 50's, breaking laws and
riding their Harleys, drinking beer in bars and wear a
black shirt with his jacket background, the music they
listen to are pink floyd, the doors, iron maiden, AC /
DC and the faces.
There are also two types of urban tribes:
 Classic urban tribes - called classic tribes that
emerged in the mid-twentieth century. These
subcultures have had a more stable trend and have
endured in youth culture
 Modern urban tribes - called modern tribes that
became popular from the XXI century. They are
characterized by more rapid development and use of
new technologies for its popularization.
