MISTRUST -Newborns dependence -Develops Trust according to care given -Crucial Stage Influences at school-The first stage starts the ball rolling, if this is not properly developed schooling will be difficult as mistrust serves as a large barrier. STAGE 2: EARLY CHILDHOOD (1½ TO 3 YEARS) AUTONOMY VS. SHAME AND DOUBT Autonomous Gain control over their own body Learn at a young age that completion of a task is something to be proud of STAGE 3 : PLAY AGE (3 TO 5 YEARS) INITIATIVE VS. GUILT “there is no such thing as a dumb question” -Curiosity -Praising, encouraging, not put to shame or mean to feel guilty -Questions are good! Influences at school-It is vital to ask questions in class, let them develop to do so! STAGE 4: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGE (5 TO 12 YEARS) INDUSTRY VS. INFERIORITY Knowledge and skills Learning to read, write, and do math Starting to understand what their grades reflect on them STAGE 5 : ADOLESCENCE (12 TO 18 YEARS) IDENTITY AND REPUTATION VS. IDENTITY CONFUSION This is one of the most important stages for success in lie “finding yourself” -High school years-developing as a person -Cliques, bullying, fitting in, popularity, all of that great stuff…. Influences at school-It is difficult enough achieving good grades, and figuring out your future, before you’ve even figured out yourself! STAGE 6: YOUNG ADULT (12 TO 18 YEARS) INTIMACY AND SOLIDARITY VS. ISOLATION Relationship/Intimacy Family Do they want relationship with people around them STAGE 7: ADULTHOOD (25 TO 65 YEARS) GENERATIVITY VS. SELF-ABSORPTION -rooted in previously developed stages -Cold heart or a golden heart? -give back to society This tremendously decides how you live your life STAGE 8: OLDER ADULT (65+YEARS) INTEGRITY VS. DESPAIR Nearing end of life Reflecting on how their life went The accomplishments involved in their life ACTIVITY!!
