Part II: Original Sentences
Memorizing vocabulary words is typically an easy task; however, really understanding a word and what it means can
really only be achieved by using the word properly in a sentence. You will be crafting original sentences to show your
understanding of the word. Choose five word to write your own sentence that reflects the word’s meaning (it is a good idea
to select words that you find challenging—you want to practice these words rather than words that you fully understand.
Your sentences should focus on the following:
1. Providing context to the word’s meaning
2. Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation
3. Proper usage (verb, noun, adverb, adjective)- make sure the form of the word that you use is proper-you can add on endings to change the part of speech.Be careful not to use a noun as a verb, an adverb as an
adjective etc.
Write the word followed by your sentence:
1. ________________________
2. _________________________
3. _________________________
4. _________________________
5. _________________________
