Job Duties and Responsibilities : Under direction of the Recycling Specialist III supervisor, the student will be responsible for: Provide support to analyst staff. Assist with updating and maintaining information in database as necessary of retail/supermarket data. Assist in research, analysis and verification pertaining to grocery industry data. Conduct telephone surveys with staff, public, industry participants and local governments to determine accuracy of program data. Assist in the preparing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and Word documents. Perform tasks such as photocopying, scanning and mailing Occasional travel to locations in Northern California to GPS recycling centers and supermarkets. Preferred Major or Courses: Geography Environmental Studies Business Communications and/or English Preferred Experience: Basic Research Proofreading Enter, update data using data base management tools General MS Word processing Basic spreadsheet development using Excel Working knowledge of various office equipment such as computer, copier, fax machine, scanner etc. Preferred Abilities: Ability to work cooperatively with others People-person (cordial, friendly, pleasant & a good listener) Quick learner and dependable Able to prioritize work, exercise initiative & multi-task.
