Q: How do I figure out how many shares I can buy?
A: Divide 3000 by the “last trade” the first day you recorded &
round down to the whole # (drop #s after decimal)
Q: How do I figure the amount spent?
A: Multiply the number of shares by the last trade on the first day
Q: Where do I find company profile info?
A: Go to your company’s quote page on Yahoo finance – in the light
blue box on the left, scroll down to “company” and click on “profile”
-- scroll down to “business summary” – summarize this info in your own
words (don’t cut & paste!) You can also include info on “key executives”
-- if you need more info you can just google the company
……more…….
Q: Where do I find financial data and what do I need to include??
A: On your company’s quote page, in the light blue box on the left, scroll
down to “Company” and click “key statistics”.
-- include: market capitalization, profit margin, revenue, gross profit,
total cash, total debt
- for the report, just write this info in a couple of sentences in your
body paragraph after the profile info
Q: Where do I find a news article?
A: On quote page, on left, scroll down to “news & info” and click on
“headlines” – click on any article (blue writing) – find one you like and
summarize it in a few sentences (can be added to your body
paragraph, or an additional paragraph)
Q: How do I figure out how my stocks did?
A: When you chart is done (at least 10 entries – 1x a week for 10 weeks),
multiply the # of shares by the last trade on the last day – this is
your selling price. Then find the difference between the amount
spent and the selling price = capital gain or capital loss!
