New Testament Memory Verses
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your
neighbor as yourself.’ - Matt. 22:37-38
If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow
me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and
for the gospel will save it. –Mark 8:34-35
For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son, so that whoever believes
in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. - John 3:16-17
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
-John 14:6
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear
much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. -John 15:5
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might
possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were
still sinners, Christ died for us. -Romans 5:6-8
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him…If God is
for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for
us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
-Romans 8:28, 31-32
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. -Romans 12:1-2
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves
be burdened again by a yoke of slavery to sin. -Gal 5:1
So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. - Gal
5:16
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control… -Gal 5:22

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as
Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph 5:1-2
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be
able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm
then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of
righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the
gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. –Eph 6:13-17
Rejoice in the lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to
all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:4-7
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. –Phil. 4:13
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly
lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (Zi amenayn doork parik yev
amenayn barqevk gadaryalk iveroosd yen ichyalk ar i ken, vor yes hayr looysoh…). James 1:16-17
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all
unrighteousness. -1 John 1:8-9
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of
God! -1 John 3:1
Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God and everyone who loves is born of
God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. -Revelation 4:20
