Literacy This term our main text will be ‘Where the wild things are’. We will be labelling a ‘wild thing’ and drawing our own story mountains to help us sequence the story and retell it to each other. We will continue to practise writing and saying our phonic sounds to make words. Using our story mountains, we will have a go at writing the story and trying to use all of our phonic sounds to make the words readable. Expressive Arts and Design Linking to our topic we will be making our own ‘wild thing’ puppet and designing and making a crown for Max. We will use stick puppets in the puppet theatre to retell the story of ‘Where the wild things are’ and use the role play masks to act out the story. Following our school trip to Longleat we will look at different wild animals around the world and explore different instruments that can be used to make music to resemble them.
