BGSU Undergraduate Student Government Cabinet Application
Applications are due to vsenn@bgsu.edu by 5:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2015.
Upon reception, there will be an email sent within 24 hours confirming the
application submission.
Application Guidelines:
 Please type all responses into a Word document. Answers should not
exceed 250 words.
 Please provide a current copy of your resume along with the application.
 Those selected for interviews will be contacted to set up an interview time;
all interviews will take place between April 29-May 6

*Note: USG Executive Board meets Mondays at 6:00 P.M.
USG General Assembly (GA) meets Mondays at 7:30 P.M.
USG Cabinet typically meets bi-weekly or as needed Mondays after GA.
Chief of Staff Expectations










Supervision from the President and Vice President.
Attend Undergraduate Student Government Cabinet, Executive, and General
Assembly meetings.
Advise President/Vice President on all cabinet matters.
Provide supervision over all cabinet members, meet with them 1:1 on a monthly
bases, and ensure that every member is kept informed on current policies and
issues.
Have 1:2 weekly meetings with President/Vice President, maintaining constant
communication with them.
Assume other duties as assigned by President and Vice President.
Communicate and collaborate with USG in regards to cabinet issues.
Be visible and present in the USG office whenever possible.
Be well educated on initiatives and issues facing USG and BGSU.
Adhere to the Undergraduate Student Government Bylaws and Constitution.
Chief Administrator Expectations









Dotted line supervision from the Chief of Staff.
Attend Undergraduate Student Government Cabinet, Executive, and General
Assembly meetings.
Act as the direct liaison between USG and Parking Services.
Finalize the Parking & Appeals Board in a timely manner.
Fulfill all responsibilities associated with parking appeals in a timely manner.
Communicate and collaborate with USG in regards to any Election and Parking
issues.
Be visible and present in the USG office whenever possible.
Be well educated on initiatives and issues facing USG and BGSU.
Adhere to the Undergraduate Student Government Bylaws and Constitution.
Treasurer Expectations









Reports to the Chief of Staff with dotted line supervision from the Vice President.
Attend Undergraduate Student Government Cabinet, Executive, and General
Assembly meetings.
Advise President/Vice President on all budgetary matters that pertain to USG and
university finances.
Fulfill all Student Budget Committee responsibilities as Undergraduate Chair.
Present a budget to USG that reflects strategic priorities while remaining fiscally
sound.
Be visible and present in the USG office whenever possible.
Be well educated on initiatives and issues facing USG and BGSU.
Assume other duties as assigned by President, Vice President, or Chief of Staff.
Adhere to the Undergraduate Student Government Bylaws and Constitution.
Director of Outreach










Reports to the Chief of Staff
Attend Undergraduate Student Government Cabinet, Executive Board, General
Assembly meetings.
Advise the President and Vice President on all matters regarding USG marketing
and communications.
Be aware of other on or off campus events.
Cultivate relationships with student organizations.
Be the primary resource of all external communication of the executive branch
and all its cabinet members.
Point of contact for all social media efforts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc…)
Help facilitate collaboration with marketing communication outlets (i.e. BG
News, BG24 News, university publications, etc.)
Assume other duties as assigned by President, Vice President, or Chief of Staff.
Adhere to the Undergraduate Student Government Bylaws and Constitution.
Director of Student Safety







Reports to the Chief of Staff
Attend Undergraduate Student Government Cabinet, Executive Board, and
General Assembly meetings.
Advise the President and Vice President on all matters related to student safety,
diversity, and inclusion.
Be informed on issues facing members of underrepresented communities.
Assume other duties as assigned by the President, Vice President, or Chief of
Staff.
Be well educated on initiatives and issues facing USG and BGSU.
Adhere to the Undergraduate Student Government Bylaws and Constitution.
Director of Campus and Governmental
Relations Expectations











Reports to the Chief of Staff
Attend Undergraduate Student Government Cabinet, Executive Board, and
General Assembly meetings.
Advise President/Vice President on all matters regarding Residence Life,
City, State, and National relations.
Attend and actively participate in Bowling Green City Council meetings.
(Typically held on Monday nights at 7:00 PM)
Work towards the betterment of on-campus housing for students.
Serve as a liaison between the Residence Student Association (RSA), Hall
Councils, the Department of Residence Life, and USG.
Be an alternate resource for all Hall Council Senators.
Assume other duties as assigned by President, Vice President, or Chief of
Staff.
Be visible and present in the USG office whenever possible.
Be well educated on initiatives and issues facing USG and BGSU.
Adhere to the Undergraduate Student Government Bylaws and
Constitution.
