Amazon Rainforest A tour through one of the most beautiful and exciting places in the world! By Adam Amazon Rainforest Tropical rainforests are forests with tall trees, warm climates, and lots of rain. In some rainforests it rains more than 2.5cm nearly every day of the year! Rainforests are found in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Central and South America. The largest rainforest in the world is the Amazon rainforest in South America. Adam 5H Amazon Rainforest •Amazon Rain Forest is the most famous and biggest Rainforest in the world! •Located in the upper section of Brazil, just south of the Equator •The Amazon covers more than half the land of South America. including Brazil, parts of Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia. Adam 5H Amazon Rainforest This is a Spider Monkey which is actually quite large in size. They like to hang upside-down and swing from branch to branch. The Spider Monkey spends most of the time in the canopy. There are 40 different types of Toucans. They have large colorful bills in a combination of colors. The bills is used to smash fruits and berries for the bird to eat. The toucan also lives in the canopy. Adam 5H Amazon Rainforest • The Amazon Rainforest is almost always raining and it can rain up to 80 inches a year ! • The Weather is very humid with temperatures between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit but feels much warmer because of the humidity. Adam 5H Amazon Rainforest The Poison Arrow Frog has bright colors to warn other animals that they are poisonous. One frog carries enough poison to kill 100 people! They can be red, blue or yellow in color. The sloth is an extremely, slow-moving animal that lives in the trees of the canopy. The sloth can have two or three toes. Sloths are nocturnal and sleep during the day. Some sloths can live in the same tree for years! Adam 5H Amazon Rainforest Many people live In villages and towns on the edge of wooded areas. Deforestation is driving people away from their homes. The tribes and villages get all their food from within the Amazon rainforest and their water from the Amazon River. Adam 5H Amazon Rainforest Many different species of underwater creatures live in the River Amazon. The river is home to many beautiful underwater creatures. The warm waters are the ideal habitat for the fish. Adam 5H Amazon Rainforest Majority of the plants used to make our medicines are found in the Amazon. If we keep chopping the trees down, many cures will be lost forever. Adam 5H
