Across the canal can sail convoys up to 6 barges, with a total length of 296 m, breadth of 22.88 m and 3.8 m draught (3000 tons each). Alongside the canal there are 2 commercial ports: Basarabi and Medgidia , where various operations can be performed, such as : loading-discharging, cargo storing and passenger transit.
