Their house
The school in California
Max’s house is a stunning E shaped house. The E is
twisted on its side. The little lines on the E is held up
by stilts out over a very sharp canyon. Max said she felt
like she was floating in mid-air when she look out the
windows of her house. They say that their house has
windows everywhere from ceiling to floor. Their house
was located on the edge of a canyon.

The nightmare that had begun started at the “School”. The school
consisted of scientist poking and prodding at the children that
were taken. The School where the Flock, Erasers, and others were
created. The School is often connected with white coats. White
coats are the people who are like doctors but who are much more
evil. The children who the school has aren’t always given they are
mostly taken.

Maximum is a fourteen year old who doesn’t have any parents or “real”
family. Max and her “family” are science experiments. They were
children combined with birds, which made them have wings. Max (which
is her nickname) is a very brave girl who doesn’t let her emotions show.
She has to be very strong for her “family” or it would crash.
Maximum Ride is a very brave girl. An example would be like when she
saw the erasers hurtling toward her house, she didn’t even stop to think
about launching herself at an eraser to try and scare them away.
Max is as very loving. She never wants to let her family or even friends
get hurt.

Iggy is the around the same age as max. Iggy is only his nick name,
his real name is James Griffiths. While doing the experiment, the
white coats (doctors) tried to enhance his eyesight. Iggy became
permanently blind because of this. Even though he is blind he is
not that far behind strength and toughness wise Max. When it
comes to cooking, Iggy is the master and usually cooks very well.
In this book, Iggy makes some breakfast the morning that the
Erasers kidnapped Angel. Iggy is a minor character in this story.
Iggy can be characterized as a protagonist. James Griffiths is a
static character. He has never changed his personality in this book.

Angel is always the most knowledgeable in the flock because
she has mind reading powers. She is biologically related to
Gazzy, but Angel is known as the 'baby sister' of the Flock, and similar to a
daughter of Max. She is six years old and has curly blonde hair with pure
white wings. Angel is very mature for her age. She is very observant and
smart for a six year old, and is unexpectedly dangerous because of her
cleverness and powerful abilities. Angel is a major character in this book.
She is a major character because she is the reason the flock is going back
to the school. Angel is the protagonist in this book. She has never done
anything in this book that has made us think that is the antagonist. She is
a static and a major character in this book. The whole book is focused on
saving her.

You may be asking “but what are the
erasers”? They’re half-man, half-wolves. They are
armed
and blood thirsty mutants. Erasers are non-forgiving, nonsentimental creatures. They don’t feel any sorrow for anything
they do, even if its wrong. They look like weird humans at first,
but can transform into something like werewolves when ever they
want. Erasers are customized often and eventually, the Erasers are
given wings. A flaw in the way they are created makes them have
only a short amount of time to live. Erasers could be characterized
as static characters. They have always been evil and always will
be. Erasers are an antagonist is this book. They have been trying to
kill maximum and her flock throughout the story. These creatures
are very major characters.

Jeb is the person who rescued Max and her
family from the School and after a while he became a
father-like figure to them. Jeb did everything a father
would do. He taught them how to fight, fly and other
things that would help them in their non-normal lives.
He later (two years before the current setting)
disappears and makes the family think that he is dead.
Angel later finds out when she is captured that Jeb is
not really dead, but in fact a double agent, working
with the white coats that he had once betrayed. Jeb is
an antagonist in this story. He is a dynamic character
because he changes from being evil to the flock to
being a father figure to them and lastly evil. Jeb is a
minor character in this book.

Angel was taken from the Erasers. Max, Nudge, and Fang leaving to go
rescue her, leaving Iggy and Gassy at home alone. Then, Iggy and Gassy
blow up the Erasers, and leave the house to go find the rest of the flock.
When Max gets back to Nudge and Fang from being with Ella and her
mother, Max and the other two go looking for Angel. They then find Iggy
and The Gasman. Then they all continue on their journey for Angel. They
steal money from someone to survive. They go to a restaurant and the
Erasers come in, the flock steals a car. The flock gets captured except for
Gasman and Iggy. They fly away. The erasers take Max, Fang, and Nudge
back to the school. They find angel. They see Jeb. Max talks to Jeb.

Angel was taken from the Erasers. Max, Nudge, and Fang leaving
to go rescue her, leaving Iggy and Gassy at home alone. Then,
Iggy and Gassy blow up the Erasers, and leave the house to go
find the rest of the flock. When Max gets back to Nudge and Fang
from being with Ella and her mother, Max and the other two go

The climax is on page 205. Max said that she had
two choices, one to give in and let the white
coats win, or to fight with all she had. She
chose the second one because she wanted to be
free. She was fighting for the family. She
fought with all her heart and won. The whole
family was finally free from the white coats.

Man vs. man
One of the main problems in our story was when Max, Fang, and
Nudge were going to save Angel from the Erasers, she saw a girl
named ella being bullied by a group of boys, and swooped down
to help her. They started to fight and Max told Ella to run. She
did. When Max won the fight she started to run away back into
the forest. As she was running into the forest she heard people
coming after her. She started to run faster and faster, but then she
heard a loud “BOOM!”. Falling to the ground she noticed she had
gotten shot. She got shot in her shoulder by her wing. She went
back to Ella’s house, and Ella and her mom took care of her.

Man vs. Society
When Max finally got back to the flock on the mountain
they decided to go find some food. They went to a
restaurant and most of the people left. Next a lot of
people walked in, and Max said that they looked like a
lot of male models. She was scared. She gave a sign to
the rest of the flock to jump out of the emergency door
on three. So they did. They high jacked a car and the
erasers caught up to them and captured all of them
except two. They didn’t catch Iggy and the Gasman.
They flew away before they could catch them.

Man vs. Self
This happens when Jeb wants to come back to be
with the family again but he can’t. He can’t
because he works with the erasers. He’s a white
coat.
Theme:
The theme of this story is that family comes first.
If a family member is in trouble, make sure you
do whatever it takes to help them out.
