Important Reminders!

Check your college website for institutional scholarships and financial aid
information.

Pay attention to deadlines!! Scholarships requiring a transcript, or
other supplemental information, must be given to your counselor at
least five days before the posted deadline to guarantee processing.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted but will be returned to
student to complete.

Applications should be completed by the student and NOT the
parent! Applications completed by parents may be returned for the
student to transfer information to increase the chances of being
reviewed by the scholarship administrator.

Report all scholarships offered, even ones you will not accept, so they
can be included in the graduation program.

Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship: Due October 3rd. Wendy's is
looking for the next class of remarkable students who excel in academics,
athletics, and community involvement. The 2014 Wendy's High School Heisman
award application process is underway. The class of 2015 graduating seniors can

must have maintained a 'B' grade point average, participated in one of the 27
sports officially sanctioned by the National Federation of State High School
Associations, and demonstrated active involvement in his or her community.
AES Engineering Scholarship: Due October 6th, $500.
Awarded on the basis of character based on the essay that is submitted. Students
must submit an essay between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following
question: “When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for
you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments

YoungArts Award: Due October 17th, $10,000. YoungArts is the only national
organization that recognizes and honors emerging talent in nine disciplines of the

Texting and Driving: It Can Wait, Due October 13th.Open to any local high
school student can write an essay, editorial or opinion column answering the
question, “Why is it important to take the ‘It can wait’ pledge to never text and
drive?” Your finished work should be between 300 and 500 words, and it must

SC Engineering and Physics Scholars Institute, Francis Marion
University. Scholarships starting at $1000. Submission deadline, October 17th.

conducted annually by the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Fall,
November 20-22, 2014. 30 high school students who have an interest in science

SunTrust Scholarship Sweepstakes: $500, A total of 30 individual $500

Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program: Due October 25th. 6 $7,000
scholarships offered to SC students. The Horatio Alger South Carolina
Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of
South Carolina who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming
personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.
o Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross

VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship: Due November 1st, Up to
$30,000To be eligible for this scholarship, students must record an audio essay
on the topic, " “Why Veterans are Important to our Nation’s History and

NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing: Due November 2nd,





The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women at the
high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests.
Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability,
academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.
Recipients receive two engraved awards: one for her, and one for her school's
trophy case. They also receive opportunities for scholarships, internships,
research experiences, and other educational and employment opportunities
provided by NCWIT member organizations.

2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Award: Due: November 11th. $1,000
or more. The National Association of Secondary School Principals seeks to
recognize students who make a difference through volunteering. Students who
wish to participate in this program who have participated in community service
activities over the past year can complete the online application by November
4, 2014. Schools will select a top youth volunteer for state-level honors by
certifying his/her application by November 11, 2014. School’s honoree will
receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award (if he or she has contributed the
minimum number of volunteer hours to qualify and will become eligible to win

Megan Meier Memorial Scholarship: Due November 7th
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, a student must obtain senior status as
determined by his or her school for one academic year and must possess a
minimum cumulative GPA 2.50 on his or her most recent report card, which
must be included with the application. Applicants must obtain a written
recommendation from a member of the faculty or staff at the school in which he

NSA Stokes Educational Scholarship: Due November 15th, up to
$30,000/year, guaranteed employment with NSA after graduation
Criteria: Must major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering.
Must commit to working for the NSA during summers and after graduation. Must
be a U.S. citizen, eligible to be granted a security clearance, with demonstrated
leadership abilities. Must have a minimum SAT/College Board score of 1600
(1100 Critical Reading and Math, 500 in Writing) or ACT of 25. An unweighted
GPA of 3.0 is preferred.

December 1st. Applicants must be accepted to Clemson University. The Lyceum

South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program: Due December 1st
This scholarship of $6,000 per year is open to seniors who plan to teach in South
Carolina. Students must attend one of the 12 teaching fellows institutions of

2015 Most Valuable Student Scholarship Contest, Elks National

Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund Scholarship Program: Due
December 17th. Applicants must be high school seniors, South Carolina residents,
have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through the spring 2014 semester,
combined SAT score of 1800 or composite ACT score of 26, parents must have a
household adjusted gross income not exceeding $40,000, and planning to attend

an accredited, four-year college or university located in South Carolina.

Applicants must be high school seniors, Burger King employees, their dependent

ASHRAE Scholarship Program: Due May 1st. Four one-year $3,000
scholarships available annually to college freshmen enrolled full-time in an
undergraduate pre-engineering, engineering or engineering technology program
leading to a bachelor degree in a course of study that traditionally has been a
preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession. Applicants must be high
school seniors who have been accepted into a pre-engineering, engineering, or
engineering technology program at a post-secondary educational institution.
