• Feedback/Open Discussion Lists – Anyone can
post to the list, including non-members.
• Moderated Discussion Lists - Only members
can post to the list, and must be approved by
a moderator.
• Unmoderated Discussion Lists - Unscreened
before posted to the list.

• Separate e-mail address delegated to your
organization.

Downside to DoIT Alternatives
• In many cases, alternate services have EULAs
(End User License Agreements), that allow the
hosting provider to do whatever they want
with client data, which usually includes
distributing with other companies that have
partnerships.
• Support may be lower and loss of customer
data may be acceptable to provider
