To be successful
 Arrive
on time and be in your seat when

 Turn your cell phones off and put them

Consequences

you don’t follow the simple rules I will:

 Hold a detention.

 Send you to the office.
Absences
 If
you have an excused absence, you
have as many days to make up missed
work as days you missed class.
 If you need help, just ask, and I’ll be glad
to find time at lunch or after school to
help you.

full sentences.

 Democracy
= rule by the people
 Monarchy = rule by king or queen
 Dictatorship = rule by a single powerful
person or group
 Republic = a representative democracy
 Constitution = a written set of laws
Branches of Government
 The
executive branch includes the
President, who carries out the laws
 The judicial branch includes the courts,
which interpret the laws.
 The legislative branch includes the
Congress, which makes the laws.
The First Democracies
 Greece
had the first democratic
government.
 Rome had the first republic or
representative democracy.

 Bring headphones, too, for classroom

equipment resulting from normal use.
 However, loss or theft of a Chromebook is
the responsibility of you and your parent.
 For $34.40 you can buy insurance for your
Chromebook so if it is lost or stolen it will
be replaced for no additional cost.
