2. Expand upon operations involving exponents, polynomials, and the methods of factoring.
3. Solve systems of equations and apply them to solving application problems.
4. Simplify rational expressions and solve rational equations.
5. Simplify radical expressions, solve radical equations, define rational exponents, (manipulate and
convert from exponential to radical notation and vice versa), and perform operations with
complex numbers.
6. Solve quadratic equations with real and complex solutions.
CLASS STRUCTURE:
The daily class period will consist of review of material and questions from the previous class,
presentation and discussion of new material, and time for practice and tests.
REQUIRED MATERIALS:
You must have daily computer and internet access and basic computer skills.
You must purchase a MyLabsPlus access code and register in MyLabsPlus (MLP).

completed. Three attempts are allowed for most questions.
 Click Save when you have completed the assignment or need to stop. You may revisit an
assignment any time up to the due date and continue working if you click on Save each time
you need to leave.
 Submitted homework can be reviewed from the grade book.
MyLabsPlus Quizzes (15% of quarter grade)
 There are 2 attempts for each quiz. Only the highest score will be used for the average.
 Quizzes are timed. Once you start you must finish, and you must stay on that assignment.
 Submitted quizzes can be reviewed from the MLP grade book.
Tests (75% of quarter grade)
 There will be 4 in-class chapter tests.
 There will be an in-class final.
MAKE-UP TEST PROCEDURES:
If you are unable to take a test at the scheduled time, you must contact the instructor within 24
hours of the date the test was administered in order to qualify to take the test. The make-up test must
be taken prior to the next class meeting. You are allowed ONE make-up test with no penalty. After
that, 10 points will be deducted from tests not taken at the scheduled time.
Make-up tests will be administered in the South Omaha testing center, Connector Building room 102

http://www.mccneb.edu/schedule/classschedule.asp. Then, find the course section and click on the Important Dates link on the same

determine the type and amount of authorized funds for the quarter. Payment is based on enrollment as of that date.
 REFUND POLICY for Credit Courses
A student is responsible for withdrawing “dropping” from a course(s) if unable to attend. Non-attendance or non-payment does not
relieve a student from the obligation to pay.
An official schedule change that reduces or terminates a student’s academic credit load may entitle the student
to a refund. Go to “My Services” and click “Student Accounts”, then “Tuition Refund Modeler” to see the
refund percentage received through midnight of the same day you “drop” withdraw from a class.
