He was the Warrior King who ruled for 43 years (605-562 B.C.E). 1,100 years after the reign of Hammurabi, the great King Nebuchadnezzar ruled the mighty Babylonian Empire. Not only was he a mighty warrior king -- he was a master builder. He built or restored temples and huge royal palaces. He also understood the importance of good defenses: A moat filled with water from the Euphrates River surrounded the city. Walls around the city provided protection from enemies. The 9 gates into the city were fortified with cedar doors plated in bronze THE EGYPTIANS WERE ONE OF THEIR BIGGEST ENEMIES.
