FOURTH TIME A RULE IS BROKEN (4)- COA However, please be aware that this plan can change due to the situation. In other words, there might be a time when your child has done something during the day, but we feel that they need to skip consequence 1 and 2 and jump to the third or fourth consequence. Rewards ◦ I give out CBG (Caught Being Good) tickets. These tickets are saved and can be used to earn various rewards. ◦ However they can be given back to me if they give me their conduct chart, forget homework or agendas. Agendas ◦Children write their homework assignments and upcoming events first thing in the morning. ◦Please sign the agenda MondayThursday. ◦$5.00 for each agenda. Homework ◦ Listed in agenda. ◦ Everyday they will need to read for a minimum of 20 minutes. ◦ Work on words their way activities- Due Friday They need to bring the checklist, notebook, and any printed activities. ◦ Practice math facts ◦ Any individual practice pages are due the next day unless directed otherwise. Words Their Way ◦ Work on different spelling patterns that focus on skills that they need to work on. ◦ I give a pretest which helps me pinpoint what skills they are proficient in and skills they lack. ◦ Go over new patterns every Monday. Through out the week they will need to do various activities in their notebooks. ◦ Due on Friday ◦ Any computerized activities need to be printed outexception is spelling city. Fun Friday & Study Hall Fun Friday is earned each week by turning in all homework when it is due. What is Fun Friday… • 25 Minute Extended Recess • All 3rd Grade Classes are participating Fun Friday Options Outdoor FF = Free play, Whiffle Ball Game, Jump Ropes, Flag Tag, Frisbee, etc. Indoor FF = Board Games, Arts & Crafts, Drawing & Coloring, etc. Fun Friday & Study Hall Study Hall is earned by NOT turning in Homework or Turning in LATE Homework Study Hall can also be earned for Incomplete Classwork or Poor Behavior Choices each week Missing Homework = Study Hall (Entire Fun Friday time) Late Homework = 5 minutes of Study Hall per each piece of late homework Example: 3 pieces of late HW = 15 minutes of Study Hall • While in Study Hall your child will write you a short letter explaining why they are in Study Hall. • Study Hall notes are due back to the teacher the following Monday, signed by a parent/guardian. • Students who attend Study Hall will read silently or work on any incomplete classwork, instead of atten Fun Friday. Thursday Folder ◦ It has two sides. ◦ One side is for items like newsletter, school notices, papers I do not need back. Please take out all papers and leave at home. ◦ The other side is the assessment folder. No checks will be accepted since the money must be sent in to Time for Kids using a school check. • Your child is allowed to bring in a snack on or around their birthday. Please make sure you provide enough for 18 students and provide any necessary utensils. • No food that has nuts or made from nuts • All food must arrive in class in prepackaged packaging. Unfortunately, no homemade items or items that have been opened at home can be distributed. Snack & Water Bottles • Fruit, Crackers, Pretzels, Veggies, Snack mix, Cheese, Yogurt, cookies • NO Candy or “Sweets” • Bottles filled with water, No soda or juice. • Put name on water bottle FSA (Previously FCAT) • The new state standards test is called Florida Standards Assessment • FSA will be administered before spring break and after spring break. • The district will also send us district tests called “ELA Modules”. There will be 6 total.
