Salam and Greetings to All Participants of the 2012 Campaign,
On behalf of ANSARA, I would like to Congratulate and to Thank All of You
for the successful implementation and conduct of this year's 6th Edition of the
Annual Nationwide PreRamadhan Blood Donation Campaign 2012.
This years 6th Edition of our Annual Nationwide PreRamadhan Blood Donation
Campaign 2012 has been another successful nationwide campaign which we all
can be proud of.
The main objective of this Annual Nationwide PreRamadhan Blood Donation
Campaign, which is conducted simultaneously throughout the whole nation
during the last weekend before the start of the holy fasting month of Ramadhan
every year, is to help stock up as much donated blood as possible in all the
major hospitals throughout the nation in anticipation of a severe shortage of
blood during the month of Ramadhan.
During the month of Ramadhan most of the Muslim population will not be able
to donate their blood due to fasting. This annual nationwide shortage of blood
will be made worse at the end of Ramadhan because of the increase in the
number of road accidents and injuries during the Raya festive season which will
increase the demand for blood products when the supply will be at its lowest.
And now, finally, it gives me great pleasure to be able, for the 6th consecutive
year, to finally present to all of you the final result and final report of the overall
conduct and performance of this year's 6th Edition of the Annual Nationwide
PreRamadhan Blood Donation Campaign 2012.
A total of 46 venues throughout the nation participated simultaneously in this
year's 2012 Campaign. We managed to collect an impressive total of 8,651
pints of blood to help stock up the blood supply at all the major hospitals
throughout the nation to meet the increased demand for blood products during
the month of Ramadhan when the blood supply will be at its lowest.
In the 1st edition 2007 Campaign, which was officially launched by our
President of Ansara Dato Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir, we managed to collect
total of 2,160 pints of donated blood from 13 venues simultaneously
throughout all the state capitals in peninsula Malaysia.

In the 2nd edition 2008 Campaign, which was officially launched by Tun Dr
Mahathir Mohamed, we managed to collect a total of 4,138 pints of blood
from 27 venues throughout the nation including 4 major towns in Sabah.
In the 3rd edition 2009 Campaign, which was officially launched by Tun Dr
Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, we managed to collect a total of 6,357 pints of blood
from 36 venues.
In the 4th edition 2010 Campaign, which was officially launched by the then
Deputy President of Ansara Dato Nasri Nasrun, we managed to collect an
incredible total of 9,089 pints of blood from a total of 38 venues nationwide.
In the 5th edition 2011 Campaign, despite the fact that most of the university
students were on holiday, we still managed to collect an impressive total of
7,579 pints of blood from a total of 41 venues simultaneously during the last
weekend before the start of the fasting holy month of Ramadhan.
ANSARA would like to put on record its sincere gratitude and thanks to all
ANSARA members throughout the whole nation who have helped to ensure the
success of this year's nationwide campaign. Ansarians have always been the
backbone of volunteers for this Annual Nationwide Campaigns ever since it
started 6 years ago in the 1st Edition 2007 Campaign.
The amount of donated blood collected during our annual nationwide campaign
period would certainly have helped to save the lives of many sick people
throughout the nation regardless of race, religion or nationality.
Ansara would also like to put on record our very special thanks and appreciation
to AEON Co. Bhd for having provided us with a total of 20 AEON Jusco
Shopping centres throughout the country, free of charge, to conduct this annual
nationwide campaign for 6 consecutive years. Without the support of AEON
Co. Bhd., this annual nationwide campaign would not have been made possible
from the 1st Edition 2007 Campaign onwards.
Very Special mention of thanks and appreciation to Encik Fansuri Alias,
Manager, CSR & Special Task, Head Office, AEON Co. Bhd., for the 6 years of
his continuous support that allowed us access to all the 20 AEON Jusco
shopping centres throughout the nation that formed the backbone of venues for
this annual nationwide campaign for 6 consecutive years.
Special thanks and appreciation also to Pusat Darah Negara (PDN- National
Blood Bank) in Kuala Lumpur and all the blood banks in all the major hospitals
in all the major cities throughout Malaysia for their full support in providing all

the blood donation teams of doctors, nurses and laboratory technicians and all
equipments at all the venues throughout the nation to help ensure the success of
this 2012 nationwide campaign.
Another Very Special mention of thanks and appreciation to Tuan Syed
Rostam bin Syed Elias, Special Officer, Pusat Darah Negara (PDN), Jalan
Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, who have facilitated and coordinated the
participation of all the blood teams from all the major hospitals throughout the
nation in all the 6 years of the annual nationwide campaigns. Tuan Syed Rostam
has been the one who facilitated the success of these annual nationwide
campaigns from the first day we started planning for these campaigns 6 years
ago.
Special mention of thanks and appreciation also to Dr Zaiton Nasir, Pengarah,
Pusat Kesihatan UiTM, Shah Alam, and all the UiTM doctors, nurses and
students from all the 15 UiTM campuses from throughout the nation for their
outstanding total contribution of 4,282 pints of blood in this year’s nationwide
2012 Campaign.
Dr Zaiton and her UiTM teams contributed a total of 3,090 pints of blood from
14 UiTM campuses throughout the country for last year’s 2011 Campaign
despite the fact that many students were on holiday that year. We look forward
to UiTM’s participation in the years to come.
Ansara would also like to put on record our special thanks to dedicated
members of Sathya Sai Baba who have came out in big numbers in Kuala
Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Melaka, Seremban, Klang, Ipoh and Penang, to help
ensure the success of this nationwide 2012 campaign. Sathya Sai Baba members
also made big contributions in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 nationwide campaigns.
For this year 2012 Campaign, Sathya Sai Baba members, besides sending their
members to help out in many of the blood donation venues throughout the
nation, took full responsibility of successfully managing 2 major blood donation
venues namely AEON Jusco Mahkota Cheras in Kuala Lumpur coordinated by
Mr Sathia and AEON Jusco Air Keroh in Melaka coordinated by Mr Guna.
Special mention of thanks to Mr Mohana Kumar who have attended all our
blood donation meetings over more than 4 years to help coordinate the
participation of all the Sathya Sai Baba members from throughout the nation in
this annual nationwide campaigns. We appreciate and look forward to Sathya
Sai Baba continued participation in future annual nationwide campaigns.

Ansara would also like to thank members of Asputra (Persatuan Bekas Pelajar
SMS Tuanku Syed Putra, Kangar) for their continued unwavering support and
participation at the blood donation venue in Kangar Perlis in the 2008, 2009,
2010, 2011 and this year’s 2012 Campaign. And for the second year Asputra
members very successfully conducted a venue in AEON Jusco Bukit Raja in
Klang for this year’s 2012 campaign. In the 2011 Campaign Asputra
successfully managed the blood donation venue in AEON Jusco Metro Prima in
Kepong.
Special mention of thanks to Encik Hatta Husin who helped facilitate the
participation of members of Asputra in these annual nationwide campaigns for
the last 5 years. Thanks also to Encik Hamlussalam Dali for having diligently
taken care of the blood donation venue in Kangar for many years of this annual
campaign. We will always look forward to the participation of members of
Asputra in future annual campaigns.
Ansara would also like to welcome back members of St Michaels’s Institution
Old Boys (SMIOB) of Ipoh into this annual nationwide campaign when they,
under the leadership of Encik Dzran Mohd, conducted the blood donation
venue at AEON Jusco Station 18 in Ipoh for this year’s 2012 Campaign.
SMIOB coordinated and managed the blood donation venue AEON Jusco Kinta
City Ipoh in the 2008 Campaign. We look forward to SMIOB’s participation in
future campaigns.
Ansara would also like to put on record our thanks to Mr Sockalingam in Ipoh
for coordinating the blood donation drive at AEON Jusco Kinta City in Ipoh for
the 2009, 2010, 2011 and this year’s 2012 Campaign. Mr Socka’s dedicated
commitment to these annual nationwide campaigns is very much appreciated.
Ansara would also like to thank Encik Aminuddin a.k.a. Pak Tam from
Yayasan Pembangunan Masyarakat Kubang Pasu (YPMKP) for helping to
coordinate the blood donation venue at Tesco Mergong, Alor Setar for this
year’s 2012 Campaign.
In Kuala Lumpur area, a total of 8 AEON Jusco shopping centres participated
in this year’s 2012 Campaign, namely:

AEON Jusco Taman Equine led by Sdr Muhammad Amir for Ansara Balik
Pulau;

AEON Jusco AU2 Setiawangsa by Sdr Ihsan for Ansara Taiping and Ansara
Kulim;
AEON Jusco Mahkota Cheras led by Mr Sathia for Sathya Sai Baba
AEON Jusco Rawang led by Mr Dalbir Singh for NRC11.
In Johor Bahru, Ansara is very fortunate to have members like Azman Che
Soh, Lokman Dasuki, Zakaria Abdul Rahman (all xSeremban72), Zuwailiah
and Jaafar Abu Bakar (xSeremban 73), Zainudin Othman (xKuantan76),
Ramlee Omar, Dr Juariah, Riza Rina Rahman, Wan Som and many others who
have dedicated themselves to ensuring the success of these annual nationwide
campaigns in the state of Johor every year.
An impressive total of 10 venues, which include 4 AEON Jusco shopping
centres and 4 KIP Mart supermarkets throughout the state of Johor took part
in this year’s 2012 Campaign.
Ansara would like to mention our thanks to Sdr Nizam Hamid , Adertising and
Promotion Manager, KIP Group of Companies, for his support for making the
participation of the 4 KIP Mart supermarkets in Johor Bahru possible. We look
forward to the continued participation of KIP Mart supermarkets in future
campaigns. Please see report from Johor Baru below.
In Melaka, members of Ansara Jasin conducted the blood donation at AEON
Jusco Bandaraya Melaka coordinated by Sdr Faizul and members of Sathya
Sai Baba took care of AEON Jusco Air Keroh coordinated by Mr Guna. They
have been very helpful in ensuring the participation of Melaka in these annual
nationwide campaigns.
In Seremban, Ansara has been very fortunate to have Dr Miszua Anuar
xMRSM Seremban who has diligently taken care of and coordinated the blood
donation venue in AEON Jusco Seremban 2 every year ever since this annual
campaign started 6 years ago. Ansara Seremban committee members have also
been very helpful in helping Dr Miszua in these annual campaigns.
In Klang, members of Ansara Kota Bharu coordinated by Sdr Zahari Mohd
has been taking good care of AEON Jusco Bukit Tinggi for at least five years
while members of Ansara Kuala Berang took care of AEON Jusco Bukit
Tinggi. For the 2012 Campaign members of Asputra helped to coordinate
AEON Jusco Bukit Tinggi together with members of Ansara Kuala Berang.
In Ipoh, as mentioned earlier in this report, Ansara is fortunate to have the
support of Mr Sockalingam for AEON Jusco Kinta City and members of St
Michael’s Institution (SMIOB) coordinated by Sdr Dzran Mohd for AEON
Jusco Station 18 Ipoh.

In Penang, Ansara is again very fortunate to have dedicated members to ensure
the participation Penang in all the 6 editions of these annual nationwide
campaigns. Ansara would like to put on record our appreciation and thanks to
Dato Rosli Jaafar (xSeremban72) Managing Director of the Penang
Development Corporation (PDC) for his unwavering support in all these 6
years of these campaigns. Also our thanks and appreciation to members of
Ansara and staff of PDC for coordinating and conducting these campaigns in
Penang in all these 6 years. Ansara looks forward to their continued support and
participation in the years to come.
In Alor Setar, as mentioned eralier in this report, Ansara appreciate very much
the contribution of En Aminuddin a.k.a. Pak Tam for coordinating the venue
Tesco Mergong for this 2012 Campaign.
In Kangar, as usual, members of Asputra and members of Ansara Beseri have
always been working together for at least five years to help ensure that Kangar
is never left out of this annual nationwide campaigns. We welcome very much
the participation of Kangar in all the 6 editions of these annual nationwide
campagns and in the years to come.
In Kota Bharu, members of Ansara Kota Bharu, more specifically known as
Ansara KBdKB, coordinated by Sdr Mohd Nasrif Daud, has never failed to
ensure the participation of Kota Bharu in all the six editions of these annual
nationwide campaigns. We look forward to their continued participation in the
years to come.
In Kuala Terengganu, members of Ansara have been very helpful in ensuring
the participation of Kuala Terengganu. Credit goes to YM Engku Azmi Engku
Rahman (xSeremban72), Managing Director of Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI)
who provided the TTI venue and facilities for these annual nationwide
campaigns. Credit also goes to Tn Hj Tun Ahmad Faisal Tun Abdul Razak,
President of Ansara Kuala Terengganu, for coordinating and orchestrating the
2012 Campaign in TTI Kuala Terengganu. Ansara will continue to look forward
to the participation of Kuala Terengganu in many years to come.
For Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu, Miri and Kuching, we apologise for our
inability to ensure their participation for this year’s 2012 Campaign despite our
best efforts to include them. However, this is compensated by the participation
of the UiTM campuses in these areas.
Ansara will always try our very best to include all the state capitals in Malaysia
in each and every year of this annual and future nationwide campaigns. We look

forward to any assistance from xMRSMers or any of our present or future
partners in these wonderful cities for next year’s 2013 Campaigns.
Ansara would also like to record our thanks and appreciation to all
individuals, sponsors and organisations who have contributed much in cash,
materials and precious time towards the success of the 2012 Campaign.
Special mention of thanks to Penang Development Corporation (PDC), Port of

Straits Time (NST) and many others for their support and contributions which
we appreciate very much.
Ansara and all its partners can be proud of this Annual Nationwide
PreRamadhan Blood Donation Campaigns which has been very successfully
conducted over 6 consecutive years without fail. This annual nationwide
campaign has been getting wider acceptance and participation from more
Ansarians and its partners.
Ansara looks forward to working again with all our wonderful partners in
organising and in implementing the next 7th Edition of the Annual Nationwide
PreRamadhan Blood Donation Campaign 2013 which will be held sometime in
early July 2013.

SHOPPERS queuing up to donate blood at AU2 shopping mall in Setiawangsa were surprised
when Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir showed up.

Mukhriz is also the president of the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) alumni, Ansara.
This is the sixth year Ansara is carrying out its pre-Ramadan blood donation campaign.
It took place on July 15 and 16 with the cooperation of the National Blood Bank and Sathya Sai
Baba group.
Mukhriz lined up just like everybody else and got himself registered to be a blood donor.
"Those who donate blood are unsung heroes," said Mukhriz.
"They are selflessly giving away their blood to help save the lives of others.
"Six years ago, we set a target of collecting 30,000 pints of blood through our annual donation
drives.
"I have just been informed that we not only surpassed the 30,000 mark, but that we have
collected 32,000 pints of blood and counting," Mukhriz said.
"During festive seasons like Ramadan, there is always a shortage of blood and that is why we
are trying to help the National Blood Bank to collect as much blood as we can," he added.
A board stating that Ansara had collected 32,000 pints of blood was handed to National Blood
Bank medical officer Dr Sarojini Maniam.
Accounts executive Syed Mohamad Nazeem Syed Ahmad said: "I came here with my wife Nora
Fazira, 26, to do our shopping at AEON when I saw the blood donation booth.
"I volunteered to donate blood today because as a caring and responsible citizen, I wanted to do
my part to help those who are in desperate need of blood.
"In life, we do not know our fate. Today, I may be healthy. Tomorrow, anything could happen and
I may be in need of blood.
" I urge the public to donate blood to help save lives.
"Donating blood is not at all painful. I have donated blood many times before.
"I feel very happy that our community has leaders like Mukhriz who often turun padang to help
out and set good examples for the rakyat," he said.
Raihanah Rozaimi, 22, an ex-student of MRSM said she had no idea that Ansara was having a
blood donation drive when she came to shop. She couldn't resist helping out her old alma mater
by signing up for a blood donation.
AEON AU2 shopping centre manager Noraliza Anuar said AEON had sponsored the location for
the blood donation campaign and that about 156 staff of AEON comprising of management and
those working at the hypermarket were informed of the two-day blood donation drive here and
were encouraged to donate blood.

REPORT FROM JOHOR BAHRU:
assalamualaikum.
This year the blood donation in Johor has to be done over 2 weekend. This was due to the
addition of new participant. The new Kid on the block is Kip Mart Group. This year the Kip
Mart group provided us with 4 venues. Kip Mart Tampoi, Kip Mart Kota Tinggi, Kip Mart
Segamat and Kip Homemart Masai. The blood-drive for the Kip Mart group was done on 7 &
8 of July.
The Drive at Kip Mart Tampoi was managed by Riza Rina, Kip Mart Kota Tinggi By Mohd
Azman, and Kip Mart Masai By Zuwailiah.The KIP Mart Group provided lunch and drinks
for all the volunteers at all the four KIP Mart venues.
We would like to thank Encik Ahmad Nizam bin Hamid, Advertising and Promotion
Manager, KIP Group of Companies (Southern Region), for his support and participation in
providing the 4 KIP Mart venues for the conduct of this 2012 Campaign.
This year also saw a new participant into our group that is Dr Juariah MRSM Seremban
Batch 77. She enter Seremban when she was in form 4. Dr Juariah and her children managed
the Kip Mart Segamat and Kolej Matrikulasi Tangkak July 14. The refreshments at Kolej
Matrikulasi Tangkak were sponsored by Dr Juariah.
As usual Br Hj Zakaria Abdul Rahman Seremban 72 coordinate the blood donation at
Pelabuhan Tanjong Pelepas (PTP) on 11-12 July. The blood drive at AEON Jusco was held
on 14-15 July. As usual we have the same group of people involved in this year blood-drive.
The only exception is that our Wak Lokman Dasuki took a sabbatical from managing this
year event.
The drive at AEON Jusco Taman University was managed by the 3 pioneer female as they
call themselve, i,e Dr Aminaton Marto, Puan Wan Som and Cik Maznah Kamat all are
Seremban 73. They are assisted by Puan Noraini Terendak 83 and Puan Rosmaria Pengkalan
Chepa 85.
The drive at AEON Jusco Bukit Indah was managed by Rizarina Rahman Taiping 1998 and
her husband Mohd Azreen Mukayat Jasin 1998. The AEON Jusco Permas Jaya was managed
by Ramly Omar Kuantan and the AEON Jusco Tebrau City was managed by Mohd Azman .
As usual there are 2 dear brothers who has been supporting us behind the scene. They are Hj
Zainuddin Othman Kuantan 76 who has been providing with the mineral water for all the 4
Juscos and Hj Jaafar Abu Bakar Seremban 73 who is generous enough to provide all the
volunteers at the 4 Juscos with lunch. According to Hj Jaafar his contribution will be
extended next year,and next year and the year after that or up to the time he meet his maker.

REPORT FROM KUALA TERENGGANU:
Assalaamu'alaikum Dr Halim & all,
Just to update that Ansara Blood Donation Drive held in Taman Tamadun Islam
Kuala Terengganu was successfully carried out by our team in Kuala
Terengganu last night (2nd August 2012).
Event started with Majlis Iftar & solat Maghrib and in the span of just 3 hours
from 9.00pm to 12.00 midnight (well past midnight actually), we managed to
get exactly 100 donors.
The hospital is keen to have us again next year for Pre-Ramadhan and also
during Ramadhan itself. This is the first time they have this drive during
Ramadhan & it is an event they would want to repeat. We have quite a number
who didn't get to donate as the queueing time takes too long so we plan to
double the capacity for next year.
Recognition in particular should go to YM Engku Azmi, CEO of TTI for
providing us the venue and manpower for this program, and the hospital team
themselves which support this event.
Also to Tuan Rohani Senong (XKT-89) who actually coordinated every aspect
of the campaign in KT (doing the banner & backdrop, T-Shirts, goodie bags
etc).
And last but not least, to our own President Ansara KT, Tn Hj Tun Ahmad
Faisal for orchestrating the whole event.

Salam dan Selamat Sejahtera Doc halim,
Apologise that Langkawi was not able to make it for 2012. The pantai Cenang mall was not
able to complete in time by 30 june 2012 as promised. As such we were unable to host the
event at the venue..
We hope to resume our participation in langkawi for 2013.
