Activities on forthcoming weeks
ATLAS baseline is to get UX15 closed before Xmas break, BUT, because of a
grounding problem on Liquid Argon calorimeter, the option of re-opening side C is
being investigated.
Final decision must be taken this week (Friday ?)
1. Atlas closing = 2 weeks of operations, including on both sides:
 JFC3 installation
 Compressed trucks installation
 Octagonal shielding lowering and positioning
 TAS position measurement and adjustment
 Shaft closing
Done by end of 2014
2. Side C re-opening = much more intensive operation
 2 weeks to re-open
 3 weeks to repair ECC + closing completion on side A
 4 weeks to close side C
Done by February 18th
M. Raymond – December 2nd, 2014
Time schedule of re-opening option
2 weeks re-opening
weeks
Full TC tech. support
3 weeks maxi on ECC
TC tech. support shared with
closing completion on A side
4 weeks for closing and
detector positioning
Full TC tech. support
2 weeks available for
field ON before Beam

Goals for 2015
With the end of LS1 we enter a second phase : Run 2 and LS2 preparation.
For Tech. Support, 2015 is a transition period
 I don’t expect many fabrications yet
 USA15 shielding must be installed as soon as possible
 2nd Atlas Movement Machine (AMM) must be completed
 Machine + Truck piping
 A big effort of arrangement and material organization needs to be done
 Preparation of BMG chamber installation planed on 2017
 Test bench for movement system (B180)
Later on (before LS2)
 Support to JD fabrication and equipment
 JD+SW lifting and transport frame
 Mock-up for ITK
 Tooling for BIS
 Prototyping,…
