You won't want to go to Heaven if ... (Author: Jay-Evan J. Tevis) 1 YOU WON”T WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN IF YOU DON”T LONG TO BE THERE NOW 2 Goodbye World, Goodbye (1) I've told all my troubles goodbye, Goodbye to each tear and each sigh, This world where I roam cannot be my home I'm bound for a land in the sky. I walk and I talk with my Lord, I feast everyday on His Word. Heaven is near, and I can't stay here, Goodbye world, goodbye. 3 Goodbye World, Goodbye (2) Now don't you weep for me when I'm gone 'Cause I won't have to leave here alone; And when I hear the last trumpet sound, My feet won't stay on the ground Gonna rise with a shout, Gonna fly Gonna ride with my Lord through the sky. Heaven is near, and I can't stay here, Goodbye world, goodbye. 4 Looking for a City Looking for a city, Where we'll never die, There the sainted millions, Never say goodbye, There we'll meet our Savior, And our loved ones, too, Come O Holy Spirit, All our hope renew. 5 I've Never Been This Homesick There's a light in the window The table's spread in splendor; Someone's standing by the open door. I can see a crystal river, So I must be near for ever; Lord, I've never been this homesick before. See the bright light shine, It's just about home time, I can see my Father standing at the door. This world's been a wilderness, I'm ready for deliverance, Lord, I've never been this homesick before. 6 Sweet Beulah Land Beulah Land, I'm longing for you, And some day, on thee I'll stand; There my home shall be eternal. Beulah land, sweet Beulah land. 7 Oh I Want to See Him Oh I want to see Him, Look upon His face, There to sing forever Of His saving grace; On the streets of Glory Let me lift my voice Cares all past, home at last, Ever to rejoice! 8 I Am Bound for the Promised Land On Jordan's stormy banks I stand, And cast a wishful eye, Toward Canaan's fair and happy land, Where my possessions lie. I am bound for the Promised Land, I am bound for the Promised Land; O who will come and go with me? I am bound for the Promised Land. 9 I'll Fly Away Some glad morning when this life is o'er I'll fly away To a home on God's celestial shore I'll fly away I'll fly away, Oh glory, I'll fly away; When I die, Hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away. 10 We're Marching to Zion Come, we that love the Lord, And let our joys be known, Join in a song with sweet accord, Join in a song with sweet accord, And thus surround the throne, And thus surround the throne. We're marching to Zion, Beautiful, beautiful Zion; We're marching upward to Zion, The beautiful city of God. 11 YOU WON”T WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT WHAT HEAVEN HAS TO OFFER 12 What Heaven Means To Me A country where no twilight shadows deepen, Unending day where night will never be; A city where the storm clouds cannot gather, Oh, this is just what Heaven means to me! What joy 'twill be when we get over yonder, And join the throng around the crystal sea! To meet our loved ones and crown Christ forever, Oh, this is just what Heaven means to me! 13 Set Another Place At the Table In heaven they've just received a reservation, From a missionary in a distant land; To accommodate a party of believers Who've just accepted God's salvation plan. So, set another place at the table And write another name on the roll; Take out another robe, shine up one more crown, Another child is heaven bound! Add another verse to the chorus, as the angels rehearse the welcome song; Set another place at the table, Soon the rest of the family's comin' home. 14 Come and Dine Jesus has a table spread where the saints of God are fed, He invites His chosen people, “Come and dine.” With His manna He does feed and supplies our ev'ry need, Oh, 'tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time! “Come and dine” the Master calleth; “Come and dine (Oh, come and dine).” “You may feast at Jesus' table all the time. (Oh, come and dine!) He who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine, To the hungry calleth now, “Come and dine.” 15 How Beautiful Heaven Must Be We know of a place that's called Heaven. It's made for the pure and the free; These truths in God's Word He has given, How beautiful Heaven must be. The angels so sweetly are singing, Up there by the beautiful sea; sweet chords from their gold harps are ringing How beautiful Heaven must be. 16 Higher Ground I'm pressing on the upward way, New heights I'm gaining every day; Still praying as I onward bound, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.” Lord, lift me up, and let me stand By faith on heaven's table land; A higher plane than I have found, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. 17 YOU WON”T WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE SAVED FAMILY AND FRIENDS 18 Look For Me When you finally make your entrance to that city Of Jasper walls and bright golden avenues As you behold all its beauty and its splendor Remember there's just one request I make of you. Look for me, for I will be there, too. I realize when you arrive there'll be so much to view. After you've been there ten thousand years, a million, maybe two, look for me, for I will be there, too. 19 I Was On My Way If you should get to Heaven before I see that land; Listen to the angels, join their singing band. When you see my Master, in that land of endless day, Tell Him when you saw me I was on my way. Tell Him when you saw me, I was on my way. I was climbing up the mountain toward that land of endless day. My face toward the sunrise and the shadows all behind. Tell Him when you saw me I was on my way. 20 There's A Whole Lot of People There's a whole lot of people going home! By the signs of time it won't be very long; In the twinkling of an eye we'll all be gone. There's a whole lot of people going home! 21 Daddy Sang Bass Daddy sang bass, mama sang tenor, Me and little brother would join right in there; Singing seems to help a troubled soul. One of these days, and it won't be long, I'll rejoin them in a song; I'm gonna join the fam'ly circle at the throne. No, the circle won't be broken Bye and bye, Lord, bye and bye, Daddy sang bass, mama sang tenor, Me and little brother would join right in there, In the sky, Lord, in the sky. 22 Shall We Gather At the River? Shall we gather at the river, Where bright angel feet have trod, With its crystal tide forever, Flowing by the throne of God? Yes, we'll gather at the river, The beautiful, the beautiful river; Gather with the saints at the river That flows by the throne of God. 23 YOU WON”T WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN IF DON”T WANT TO SPEND AN ETERNITY THERE 24 We'll Never Grow Old I've heard of a land on that far away strand. Tis the beautiful home of the soul. Built by Jesus on high, Where we never shall die. Tis the land where we'll never grow old. There our work will be done And our crown will be won Every trouble and trial will be o'er. Every sorrow will end, our voice will blend With the loved one who've gone on before. 25 Heaven's Sounding Sweeter Life has been so good, I can't complain. When I'm down, God gives me strength to rise again; But I'm weary from the struggle of it all, So I listen, how I listen for His call. Heaven's sounding sweeter all the time. Seems like lately, it's always on my mind; Some day I'll leave this world behind, Heaven's sounding sweeter all the time. 26 He'll Say Well Done If when you give the best of your service, Telling the world that the Savior has come, Be not dismayed when men don't believe you. He'll understand and say, “Well done.” O when I come to the end of my journey, Weary of life, and the battle is won, Carrying the staff and the Cross of redemption, He'll understand and say, “Well done.” 27 What A Day That Will Be What a day that will be When my Jesus I shall see, And I look upon His face, The One who saved me by His grace; When He takes me by the hand, And leads me through the Promise Land, What a day, glorious day that will be. 28 Ten Thousand Years Soon I'll come to the end of my journey, And I'll meet the One who gave His life for me; I will thank Him for the love that He gave me, And ten thousand years or more I'll reign with Him. Ten thousand years we'll just be started, Ten thousand years we've just begun; The battle's over and the victory's been won, Then thousand years and we've just begun. 29 Everybody Will Be Happy There's a happy land of promise over in the great beyond, Where the saved of earth shall soon the glory share; Where the souls of men shall enter and live on forever more, Everybody will be happy over there. Ev'ry body will be happy, Will be happy over there; We will shout and sing His praise, Ev'ry body will be happy over there. 30 YOU WON”T WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN IF YOU HAVE NO DESIRE TO LIVE IN A MANSION 31 Build My Mansion I have no castles, no earthly kingdom, But my cabin will do 'till I get home; My mansion's yonder on the hills of glory, Oh I hope my mansion sits near God's throne. Build my mansion next door to Jesus, And tell the angels I'm coming home; It doesn't matter who lives around me, Just so my mansion sits near the throne. 32 My Brand New Home And just wait'll you see my brand new home. Wait'll you see its beauty rare, there's nothing here that can compare; Just wait'll you see my brand new home My heavenly Father's building me, And I'm gonna occupy for free, Just wait'll you see my brand new home. 33 YOU WON”T WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN IF YOU DON'T DESIRE TO OFFER UNENDING PRAISE AND WORSHIP 34 I Saw the Lord I saw the Lord He was high and lifted up And rightfully adored I saw the Lord And He saw me. 35 All Hail the Power All hail the power of Jesus' name Let angels prostrate fall, Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all, Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all! 36 Holy, Holy, Holy (1) Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty! God in three persons, Blessed Trinity. Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee, Casting down their golden crowns, Around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Which wert, and art, and evermore shall be. 37 Holy, Holy, Holy (2) Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee, Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see. Only Thou are holy, there is none beside thee. Perfect in power, in love and purity. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Thy works shall praise Thy name, In earth and sky and sea; Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity. 38 YOU WON”T WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN IF YOU DON”T UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS 39 The Old Rugged Cross On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suffering and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and best For a world of lost sinners was slain. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange some day for a crown. 40 At The Cross Alas! And did my Savior bleed, And did my Sov'reign die? Would He devote that sacred head, For sinners such as I? At the cross, at the cross, Where I first saw the light, And the burden of heart rolled away, It was there by faith I received my sight, And now I am happy all the day! 41 Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross Jesus, keep me near the cross, There a precious fountain, Free to all a healing stream Flows from Calvary's mountain. In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever, Till my raptured soul shall find, Rest beyond the river. 42 Room At the Cross The cross upon which Jesus died Is a shelter in which we can hide, And its grace so free is sufficient for me, And deep is its fountain, as wide as the sea. There's room at the cross for you, There's room at the cross for you; Though millions have come, There's still room for one, Yes, there's room at the cross for you. 43 SO, DO YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN? If you are unsure if you will go to heaven when you die, listen to what God has said in His Word. 44 FIRST . . . GOD LOVES YOU! "For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have Everlasting Life" (John 3:16). 45 SECOND . . . MAN IS A SINNER, AND SIN HAS SEPARATED HIM FROM GOD! "For there is not a just man upon Earth, that doeth good and sinneth not" (Eccl. 7:20). "For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God" (Romans 3:23). 46 THIRD . . . JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY REMEDY FOR SIN! For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God . . ." (I Peter 3:18). "Neither is there Salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). 47 FOURTH . . . YOU MUST RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR. Jesus calls this experience the "new birth." He told Nicodemus: ". . . Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3). 48 A Christian Invitation We invite you now to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name" (John 1:12). 49 A Simple Prayer Dear Lord Jesus, I now realize that I am a sinner. I accept the fact that You died for me on the Cross of Calvary. I receive You as Savior and Lord of my life. Please help me through the power of your Holy Spirit to be the kind of Christian You want me to be. Amen. 50 Congratulations! Congratulations are in order, You found the answer, You found the Lord, You found the good life, You crossed the border, Congratulations are in order! 51
