a. Define international business/marketing. b. Explain why nations engage in international trade. c. Describe how international trade affects the economic interdependence of nations.

Essential Questions:

 What is marketing’s place in business and how does this relate to other parts of business?

Why is cultural understanding continuing to grow in importance and how does this growth impact business?

Sequence of Instruction

Identify the Standards and review Essential Questions.

2.

Identify and review the unit vocabulary.

3.

Have students read Manage This LAP

4.

Teacher will present a Powerpoint reviewing the essential concepts.

5.

Individual activities to reinforce individual student understanding of management (2).

6.

Have students research a business of their choice and relate each of the management activities to that particular business. Students will summarize their findings in an executive summary and orally present their findings.

7.

Have students complete a practice test.

Teacher will present a Powerpoint reviewing the essential concepts.

Individual activities to reinforce individual student understanding of international business (2).

Students will use the same business as the previous project and expand the research to include detailing the international activities of the company. Students will include a proposal for international business for the business. Students will summarize their findings in an executive summary and orally present their findings.
