This is the old look of the church. The left side of the monastery is closed for renovation when I visited the holy place two years ago. They put a new extension of the church wherein more space to the way to the Virgin Mary. Inspite of the under construction, people and the devotees are still coming back. They are gathered together to oath for the hope that their prayers will be answered. The believers attend with their hopes, faith, sacrifices and joys to see the Blessed Lady whom they believe can make their aspirations to come true. Now let’s take a look at the new monastery and the changes that has been made. This in now the new look of the Monastery of the Holy Eucharist in Baranggay Lindogon, Sibonga, Cebu. Birhen sa Simala is one of the miraculous Virgin Mary. It's been said that this Virgin Mary cried not the usually cry but she cry a blood. People of all ages coming from different places sacrifice to fall in line in order to meet and kiss the Virgin Mary. It took more than hour to kiss and meet the Virgin Mary. While waiting for your turn, you can read and see a lot of proven miracles. Devotees have been regularly increasing and there have been a lot of improvements on the church because of the donations from a lot of people all over the world. This line is going to the actual “Birhen sa Simala” on the third floor. The line has started to get very long. Some people stay in line under the heat of the sun outside the church just to have a glimpse and short prayer to the Virgin Mary. Note that nobody can get inside and see the “Birhen sa Simala” once a mass is going on. This is said to be the actual statue that showed several miracles including shedding of tears (including blood tears), changed in facial expression and answered thousands of prayers to those who pray to her. See, even the heat of the sun cannot stop the people and the devotees to come and wait. This is the image of the miraculous mother Mary at the main altar. The actual statue said to perform miracles including the shedding of tears, change in facial expression and hearing prayers. Since there are a lot of testimonials already, tourists and locals alike visit the image and say prayers to the Virgin Mary. The ceiling of the Cathedral got its inspiration from those of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican, with beautiful paintings and stained glass art. It captivates the devotees attention upon entering the holy church. Candles come in different colors. Each of the colors has each meaning.
