Vision and Mission To effectively address the environmental challenges of the ICT sector through well structured sectorial strategies To promote a sustainable growth of the ICT Sector To set up a well structured programme to support the accomplishment of the targets and the implementation of the roadmaps To position the ITU and ICT sector as the leading industry to enable a clean, low carbon and climate resilient economy To contribute to the accomplishment of the new UN Sustainable Development Goals To identify standardization gaps within the ICT sector in order to address environmental sustainability challenges 12 ii. Assessment of the Initiative To identify the challenges and opportunities the ICT Sector will face during this process To define a governance model that includes all stakeholders, led by ITU together with other UN agencies and technical experts.
