Sot: Andrew Jensen: hey, this is Andrew Jensen. Welcome to The Great Waterway Classic. This
is PGA TOUR Canada.
Titles
WE’VE HIT THE HOMESTRETCH OF THE INAUGURAL PGA TOUR CANADA SEASON. THE
GREAT WATERWAY CLASSIC STARTS A RUN OF FOUR EVENTS IN FOUR WEEKS THAT
WILL DECIDE WHO FINISHES IN THE TOP FIVE AND MOVES UP TO THE WEB.COM TOUR.
Sot john elllis: it might come down to one dollar. It might come down to a one footer or two
footer in victoria that I missed or made. From that standpoint you don’t ever want to throw
away a shot.
Sot nick taylor: if you win any of these tournaments you put yourself in a great spot. I’ve had
good finishes but I definitely could be better.
Sot Ellis: I want to be in the top 5 right now. I control my own destiny if I play well.
Sot taylor. The more you start pressing is when you make careless mistakes so try to focus on
what your trying to do, one round at a time, one hole at a time, one shot at a time.
Sot ellis: its still a big stretch because one week changes everything.
Sot Riley Wheeldon: For the guys that are near the top of the order of merit, they’re starting to
realize where they stand, what they need to do. And for the guys that ar a little bit further back,
the desperation is there to get a win. The entire field are going to come into these last four
events really motivated.
RILEY WHEELDEN, FROM COMOX, BRITISH COLUMBIA SITS IN THE ROLE OF THE
HUNTED…THE MAN IN THE TOP SPOT THAT EVERYONE IS TRYING TO CATCH.
Sot wheeldon: at the start of the year, this is where I wanted to be. This is the pressure that I
wanted to have on myself at this juncture of the season. So just try and embrace it and realize
that its something that you want and you desired and go out there and use it to your
advantage. There’s more motivation, more pressure to stay where I’m at, so I come into these
last four events as focused as I’ve been all summer.
Sot Andrew Jensen: This week, PGA TOUR Canada teed it up at Upper Canada Golf Course in
Morrisburg, Ontario. I was lucky enough to play some junior golf tournaments here growing up
in Ottawa. It’s a great host course, great layout for The Great Waterway Classic.
Recap:

(01:17:00) LECUYER RD 1 SOT: You can fire at flags with long irons, mid irons, you know it’s
gonna stick because of the rain, I, you’re gonna see some low scores.
GRIMSHAW, ALBERTA’S STEVEN LECUYER TAKES ADVANTAGE, FIRING A 6-UNDER, 66. HE
REELS OFF 8 BIRDIES AFTER A DOUBLE BOGEY AT THE 2ND.
(01:16:22) LECUYER RD 1 SOT: This early in the tournament, if you get a double bogey you gotta
erase it from the mind and just say you got 35 holes left and just do as best as you can, and I
hung in there which was good and good comeback so yeah this was a great round for me.

LECUYER IS IN A GROUP OF PLAYERS ONE BEHIND LUCAS LEE WHO POSTS A 65 FOR THE

GRFX: SEAN SHAHI / 1ST (-18) THRU ROUND 3
(01:42:35) SHAHI RD 3 SOT: Starting today’s round I actually felt a little bit of that heart beat
kind of pressure, usually I don’t feel that. It’s more the I’m too worried about how I play
pressure, but uh I have some things that I’m saying to myself middle of the round to make me
laugh and smile.
SHAHI’S 6-UNDER 66 SECURES HIS FIRST-EVER 54-HOLE LEAD.
(01:43:30) SHAHI RD 3 SOT: I just gotta enjoy it. Just live the moment then, uh feel like I’m
playing back home with the boys // and uh just try to have fun and that’s it. And if it happens it
happens and if it doesn’t then I’ll just take this to the next week and go from there.

SHAHI PLAYS WELL ON SUNDAY, BUT WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK FOR A
WIN. HE MANAGES A TOTAL OF 20-UNDER PAR, GOOD ENOUGH FOR 3RD PLACE.

ARIZONA’S BRANDON HARKINS MAKES A HUGE SUNDAY CHARGE UP THE
LEADERBOARD WITH TEN BIRDIES, TYING THE COURSE RECORD OF 62. HE POSTS 21
UNDER PAR NEARLY AN HOUR BEFORE THE LEADERS HIT THE HOME STRETCH.
BUT THE DAY BELONGS TO CHILE’S HUGO LEON. HE CARDS HIS SECOND STRAIGHT 67
TO BEAT HARKINS BY ONE STROKE.
GRFX: HUGO LEON/ 2013 THE GREAT WATERWAY CLASSIC CHAMPION
(02:10:30) LEON RD 4 SOT: I saw the board on the 14th hole, after I hit my 3rd shot I saw the
board, and it actually gave me a little relief because // It’s nice to know that there’s a number//
that’s the way we play golf, not that I’m thinking over it on every shot, but at least there was no
more doubt, it’s not just, pars are not going to cut it. I knew I had to be aggressive at some
point.
GRFX: HUGO LEON/ 5 BIRIDES IN FINAL ROUND
(02:09:18) LEON RD 4 SOT: Everyday I brought it home under par, well under par actually…so I
knew if I get to 17 within striking distance I was gonna have a shot, like I like my chances, and //
(02:10:22) I trusted that my game was gonna come through for me.
THE 28 YEAR OLD BIRDIES THE PAR 4 16TH TO TIE HARKINS AT 21 UNDER…AND THEN
DROPS ANOTHER BIRDIE ON THE PAR 4 17TH TO TAKE THE LEAD. LEON LEADS THE TOUR
IN PAR 4 SCORING AVERAGE AND THIS WEEK IT WAS THE DIFFERENCE.
(02:10:57) LEON RD 4 SOT: I knew that getting through you know 14, 15, 16 was key for me, if I
could get through there at even par, and I got through there at 1-under par. And could’ve been
3 birdies. I hit great shots all the way through.
MUSIC CHANGE: INSD 6, #19 JUST CAN’T FAKE IT, Cornelius, Dwayne Fredrick (BMI) (C); Fay,
Steven David (ASCAP) (C)
LEON SEALS THE VICTORY WITH A TESTING PAR PUTT ON THE 18 TH.
(02:10:57) LEON RD 4 SOT. // I felt extremely well. // I wasn’t nervous at all today. // It was just
great, I felt, I felt like I was going to do it all the way and when I birdied 16 I really felt that it was
up to me to do it and fortunately I did.
GRFX: 2011 ATB FINANCIAL CLASSIC
THIS IS LEON’S SECOND PGA TOUR CANADA VICTORY. HIS FIRST CAME IN THE FALL OF
2011 AT THE ATB FINANCIAL CLASSIC; BUT A HIP INJURY THAT WINTER STYMIED HIS
MOMENTUM.

MASTER SCRIPT THIS IS PGA TOUR CANADA 13CAN7
GRFX: HUGO LEON / @HLT84
(02:11:55) LEON RD 4 SOT: A win is a win and this one is very big for me because//since
November of that year my game hasn’t been the same and I’ve been working as hard as I’ve
ever worked in my life for the last year and a half to try and get it back // and being able to hit
the ball the way I did, and to play the way I did, and to feel the way I felt on the course it’s an
amazing feeling. I feel very accomplished right now and I feel very happy.
LEADERBOARD:
LEON’S 22-UNDER PAR IS THE LOWEST WINNING SCORE ON PGA TOUR CANADA THIS
YEAR; WHILE BRANDON HARKINS’ SOLO 2ND AND SEAN SHAHI’S SOLO 3RD ARE CAREER
BESTS. FOR LEON, THE WIN VAULTS HIM INSIDE THE 5 INTO THE 4 TH POSITION.
(02:13:15) LEON RD 4 SOT: obviously what comes with this, it’s a great thing, but I’ll take the
win and if everything else comes with it, you know usually good golf gets rewarded, so I played
great golf this week.
THE FIVE:
HERE’S THE CURRENT OP 5 ON THE ROAD TO THE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP OF CANADA
PRESENTED BY FREEDOM 55 FINANCIAL. RILEY WHEELDON STILL HOLDS THE TOP SPOT,
BUT HIS LEAD OVER WIL COLLINS IS DOWN TO ABOUT 200 DOLLARS AFTER A MISSED
CUT IN MORRISBURG. THE TOP 5 AT SEASON’S END WILL EARN WEB.COM TOUR CARDS
AND TAKE ANOTHER STEP ON THE PATH TO THE PGA TOUR.
BUMP:
COMING UP NEXT, WE LEAVE THE FAST LANE FOR A MUCH SLOWER ERA AT UPPER
CANADA VILLAGE… AND LATER, AN EMOTIONAL STORY OF GOLF AND LIFE WHILE
WAGING A BATTLE AGAINST DEPRESSION.
Sot: By 2011 it was just, here we go, started to think a lot of those thoughts again and it was
scary
SEGMENT 2
WELCOME BACK TO THIS IS PGA TOUR CANADA.
A STOP AT THE GREAT WATERWAY CLASSIC IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST GOLF. IT’S A
CHANCE TO HIGHLIGHT THE NATURAL BEAUTY AND HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE
AROUND THE ST. LAWRENCE RIVER.
Sot: SUSAN LE CLAIR: We span over 200 kilometers in the Great Waterway region from Kingston
through to almost the Quebec border. We have a great diversity of product. Two of Ontario’s
iconic heritage attractions with Fort Henry in Kingston and Upper Canada Village right here in

Morrisburg. As well as Upper Canada Golf Course, Crysler Arena. We’ve got 13 campgrounds
and beach areas as well, all of them along the St. Lawrence River. People cant believe the
quality of the experiences, the beauty of the area when they come to visit, the quality of our golf
course is one of the best in the region, and all of our outdoor activities as well. We do have
some of the most pristine camping outdoor areas in the region. We would love to have people
come and visit us in the Parks of the St. Lawrence.
OUTSIDE THE GAME ANIMATION.
WE TRAVEL BACK IN TIME ABOUT 150 YEARS IN THIS WEEK’S OUTSIDE THE GAME.
PGA TOUR CANADA PLAYERS CHRIS KILLMER, JJ REGAN AND ALEX KERRIGAN LEFT
MODERN LIFE BEHIND AND FOUND THEMSELVES IN THE 1800’S AT UPPER CANADA
VILLAGE.
Nat jj regan: He just ate I think this one. Big fella.
Nats: How many horsepower is this thing?
Sot SuSan Le Clair: When you do come to Upper Canada Village, you do get the sense that you
are in another time and place. You don’t have the interruptions of technology. Its really a truly
living, operating village.
Sot Alex Carrigan: we’re looking for Upper Canada Golf Course.
Susan LeClair: You cant help but feel the peacefulness when you walk through the gates.
Nats: Did we pass the tavern yet? There’s the tavern right there!
Tavern keeper: Do you gentlemen want something to drink. A glass of ginger beer or
sarsaparilla perhaps. Ginger beer. Have you had ginger beer before.
JJ Regan: I have
Tavern keeper: Well, I think you’ll find that our ginger beer is quite spicy. Will that be suitable
to your palette.
Cheers. To the queen.
Susan Le Clair: Our artisans are unique and they ply trades that are lost art forms. It just
enables people to really experience what it was like in the 1860’s.
Blacksmith: Okay bang, pick it up. Up and down. Hit it.
Chris Killmer: C’mon look at that. It’s flat.
Chris Killmer: That’s how you make a J hook.
THE SITE OF THE BATTLE OF CRYSLER’S FARM WAS THE FINAL STOP. ONE OF THE
DECISIVE CLASHES IN THE WAR OF 1812 WAS GIVEN A GOLFING TWIST.

SEGMENT 3
YOU’RE WATCHING THIS IS PGA TOUR CANADA.
IT’S TIME TO PRY INTO THE MIND OF A PGA TOUR CANADA PLAYER WITH 5 QUESTIONS.
THIS WEEK’S GUEST IS KINGSTON, ONTARIO NATIVE AND PGA TOUR CANADA ROOKIE
BRAD BOYLE.
Sot Brad Boyle: Golf Idols growing up were always Tiger Woods of course. He was the best of
the best when I was a kid. And he was kind of the influence that got me into golf. And when I
was younger I went and saw Jason Day at Turning Stone and I just watched him rip it around
there and I thought it was pretty cool because he was only 18 or 17 at the time. So I like him a
lot too.
Sot Brad Boyle: I love Caddyshack. Its just a classic golf movie. Its absolutely hilarious every
time you watch it. Its probably one of my favorite movies. I’ve watched it a hundred times.
Sot Brad Boyle: We did Miami by Will Smith a couple of nights ago. That was pretty fun. Sings:
Welcome to Miami. And then some crazy stuff after that.
Sot Brad Boyle: I love cars so it would definitely have to be some sort of really nice car.
Probably an AMG Benz or something.
Sot Brad Boyle: I’d love to be able to fly because that would make travelling to golf
tournaments a lot less expensive.
THIS WEEK’S TOUR STOP IS PRESENTED BY THE GREAT WATERWAY.
THE GREAT WATERWAY CLASSIC PARTNERED WITH THE CORNWALL HOSPITAL
FOUNDATION TO RAISE FUNDS FOR A VARIETY OF HEALTH CARE INITIATIVES. AS PART
OF THAT EFFORT, PLAYERS ANDREW JENSEN AND OLIVER TUBB GAVE SOME GOLF
LESSONS TO PATIENTS FROM A RESIDENTIAL ADDICTION TREATMENT FACILITY.
Nats: You play hockey? You dont take wrist shots, slap shots like this right? Perfect. I don’t see
much wrong there.
MASTER SCRIPT THIS IS PGA TOUR CANADA 13CAN7
Sot: Greg McMillan: This is huge for the hospital. The issue of stigma and access for mental
health is still very big. So Andrew and the Tour actually giving some exposure to mental health
is very important for us. Very important for the community.
Sot: Andrew Jensen: For a small community like Cornwall, it’s a large percentage of their people.
And its an unbelievable opportunity and honor to associate with that.
HAVING A GOOD TIME ON THE GOLF COURSE HAS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING FOR
JENSEN.
Ftb
Sot Jensen: I’ve always associated what I thought of myself to what I did. And I was Andrew the
golfer and I was bad! By 2011 it was just, here we go, start to think a lot of those thoughts again
and it was scary.
Lyric: Tell me what you dream about and I’ll get it for you. Tell me what you laugh about, and
I’ll play my tricks on you.
DEPRESSION TOOK HOLD OF ANDREW JENSEN AS A BOY. HE FIRST TRIED TO COMMITT
SUICIDE IN HIS TEENS. NEARLY A DECADE LATER, AS HE LAUNCHED A CAREER IN PRO
GOLF, INJURY AND POOR PLAY BROUGHT THE FEELINGS BACK. THE JOY OF LIFE WAS
REPLACED BY PAIN.
Sot: I just thought there was something wrong with me and it upset me that I thought poorly of
myself that I wanted to hurt myself. I just wanted to be normal. I was trying to fight and I was
losing it every time.
BY 2011, JENSEN THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO GIVE UP THE FIGHT.
Sot: I tried to overdose on my medication. I tried to jump off a building. …you don’t want to
die. I didn’t want to die. But I just wanted the pain I was experiencing to go away. And that’s
kind of what you think that will make it go away…For that split second you are not aware and
you take 1 too many pills or cut too deep or you do jump. I’m very lucky.
Lyric: Around and round it goes. Day by day it flows. Its right under your nose. Your life flashes
and grows.
AFTER THE THIRD ATTEMPT TO TAKE HIS OWN LIFE, JENSEN REMAINED IN THE MENTAL
HEALTH WARD OF HIS LOCAL HOSPITAL. THAT’S WHEN THE HEALING PROCESS TOOK
HOLD.
Sot: You feel showered in love. And I felt so safe.. (emotion) I felt so safe when I was there.
Sot: It felt like the few weeks leading up to that was an absolute nightmare. And I remember
when I got home I gave my dad a big hug. It’s the most emotion I’ve ever seen from my father,
about anything. And I just said the nightmare is, like, over. I cant imagine the nightmare it
would have been for them, right. Yeah. Leaving the hospital, and its funny, the first thing I said
Page 7 of 10
MASTER SCRIPT THIS IS PGA TOUR CANADA 13CAN7
to dad was, this can’t end at me. Having seen that, what I was up in the hospital with, its, I’m
lucky I’m able to leave. There’s people that wont be able to.
THAT’S WHY EVENTS LIKE THE EXHIBITION TO HELP THE CORNWALL HOSPITAL
FOUNDATION ARE SO IMPORTANT TO JENSEN. GOING PUBLIC AND BEING PART OF THE
SUPPORT COMMUNITY ALLOWS HOPE TO TRANSFORM WHAT ILLNESS HAD TORN
DOWN.
Sot I feel like I’m constantly going to be walking a path to recovery. The thing that I’ve learned
is that it doesn’t own me, it doesn’t identify me. I own it now. It took me 13 years to admit it
because before I just either thought it would pass or thought I could tough it out really. But you
can’t. When you are in that place you feel like there’s nothing beyond it. And there is. There
really is. Ithink that’s what I really hope to convey to people that there’s hope. And your life
matters. And your story is important.
