Let’s Talk About the
Grade Contract
Now Is the Time To Take
Charge!

Two Important Goals at MacArthur are:
1) To teach students to take responsibility for
their actions
2) To encourage students to take pride in
maintaining appropriate and acceptable
behavior.
• These goals are an integral part of our educational
program.
• Now that preparations are underway for the promotion of
all eighth grade students, we are continuing to stress the
importance of these goals through our qualifications for
student participation in the eight grade end-of-the-year
activities.

How to avoid
Suspension - Expulsions
Do the right thing/ Peer pressure
Drugs/Paraphernalia/Alcohol
Fights
Weapons & look-a-likes
Other Inappropriate Actions
PDA
After School – avoid areas such as park,
restrooms, unsupervised areas
26
• Beginning the first semester of the eighth
grade year, all students will and are
going to be repeatedly reminded by staff
members and all administrators that
during the second semester their record
of attendance, behavior, and class work
will affect their eligibility for participation
in the end-of-the-year eighth grade
activities.
27
• On January 30, 2015, the second semester
began. At that time, all students received
new Assignment Cards and Tardy Cards for
all classes.
• Having new Assignment Cards and Tardy
Cards means a fresh start for your student.
We believe that this places all students at
the same starting point and gives an equal
opportunity for eligibility to each person.
