Objectives for this session
The SLT will…
 Have a thorough understanding of High Quality
Standard 5: Educator Growth and Development
 Recognize and celebrate areas that exemplify this
standard’s functions.
 Complete the HQ Std 5 Rubric collectively and
demonstrate proficiency in utilizing the tools necessary
to analyze the results.
 Utilize tools to conduct further needs analysis in
specified areas based on their data.
 Develop a plan for conducting the Rubric and specified
needs analysis with the entire faculty when returning
to school.
 Have a data driven HQ Std 5 Plan that full aligns to the
Strategic Plan

Standard V – Educator Growth & Development
In high quality schools, staff members participate in processes of
self reflection, collaboration and evaluation that lead to
professional growth and development in order to impact student
learning.
Function Category
Function A – Professional Development
 The staff engages in continuous learning opportunities for
professional growth designed to improve school and classroom
practice.
Function B – Teacher Collaboration
 The teachers participate in high functioning professional
learning communities to collaborate on the improvement of
students learning through the study of relevant data, problem
analysis and the implementation of strategies that improve
instructional practice.
Function C – Evaluation, Feedback and Support
 The staff participates in processes of evaluation that facilitate
self-reflection and informs the process of professional growth.

 5.A.1 The staff works with others to elevate the teaching
profession by promoting and supporting continuous
improvement efforts.
 5.A.2 The staff supports instructional improvement through
structured opportunities for ongoing discussions about
instructional practices and the sharing of ideas.

opportunities to support instructional improvement leading to

Development Plan Template Section “HQ Rubric”:
 When and how will this be administered to the staff
(paper-pencil; electronically, etc)?
 When and how will the leadership team review the
results?
 When and how will the results be conveyed back to
the teachers and staff?
 When and how will the leadership team create a
school-wide goal/goals?
 When and how will the leadership team monitor
and provide feedback on the goal progress?
HQ 5 Rubric:
Analyzing the Results
Using the Multi-Voting tool to analyze
the results and develop a list of
potential professional development
needs that are ranked and prioritized.
Write one goal and two objectives for
your school based on the results. This
goal should be a smart goal that is
measureable.
