Course
Description:
This course shows the importance of the human behavior
within business organizations at the individual, group, and
organizational levels. It helps students understand some key
principles about how people behave in organizations in order
to prepare them to become effective co-workers, team
members, and organization citizens.
Course Objective:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Emphasize the role of human factors in organizational
success.
Provide a general overview of the field of Organizational
Behavior.
Discuss basic theories and concepts that explain
Organizational Behavior at the individual, group, and
organization level.
Explain the processes and methods that can improve the
behavior and attitudes of organizational members and,
thus, their performance.
Give real examples of human behavior in organizational
settings.
Course Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. Comprehend basic behavioral theories and their
applications in business organizations.
2. Understand factors that affect individual and group
behavior within business organizations.
3. Develop reasonable solutions to organizational behavior
problems.
4. Enhance their skills and behavior as organizational
members and managers.
5. Effectively manage their relationships with co-workers,
managers, subordinates, and customers.
Academic Honesty:
All students are expected to follow the university guidelines
for academic honesty. I think that any student who conducts
an unethical practice in college will do so in the business
world if given a degree from this institute. Therefore, I will
recommend a harsh penalty for any student who violates the
college guidelines for academic honesty.
Performance
Evaluation:
Student performance is evaluated as follows:
Exam ( I ) ------------------------ 15
Exam ( II ) ----------------------- 15
Class Activities----------------- 30
Final Exam ---------------------- 40
Attendance:
Students are expected to attend every class. Any student who
absent more than 7 classes will be denied from completing the
course (i.e., DN).
Participation and
Class Activities:
I highly appreciate student participation in class discussion.
Your participation will enhance your understanding of the
subject and overall performance.
Class activities (e.g., assignments, home works, discussions,
group work, project) will be further clarified. These activities
worth 30 points of your total grade.
Exams:
Exams count for 70 points of your total grade. These exams
contain a mixture of true/false, multiple choice, fill the gap,
and short essay questions. Exam questions reflect material
presented in the textbook, outside readings, class lectures,
discussions, and videotapes. Final exam will be
comprehensive (i.e., it will cover the whole material given to
students during the semester). All exams will be unified and
given to students (male and female) in the same exact time.
