GOOD AFTERNOON FROM BAY HILL CLUB AND LODGE...I'M GARY WILLIAMS.
THIS WEEKEND WILL SEE ANOTHER PGA TOUR PLAYER HOIST A TROPHY
FOLLOWING A SUCCESSFUL WEEK INSIDE THE ROPES...BUT IT IS JUST ONE FACET
OF WHAT THEIR LIFE TRULY ENTAILS. THE HOURS AWAY FROM THE COURSE
ARE A CONTINUOUS BALANCING ACT, WITH PLAYERS NAVIGATING THE
DEMANDS OF TRAVEL, FITNESS, SPONSORS, MEDIA, AND FANS, AND OF COURSE
FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
EVERYTHING THAT LEADS UP TO THAT TEE SHOT ON THE FIRST HOLE OF A
TOURNAMENT CAN BE SUMMED UP IN TWO WORDS.
TOUR LIFE.
NAT ZACH JOHNSON: “Let’s go do it.”
SOT ZACH JOHNSON: “TOUR Life to me is first and foremost my job, it is a very fortunate
job I’m able to compete for a living but it is a job.”
NAT: “Hi Dad.”
SOT JASON DAY: “It’s amazing it’s just uh the things uh that you learn along the way but uh
just really trying to get better each and every year.”
SOT RYAN PALMER: “TOUR Life is how you live your life on the road, whenever you’re with
your family…by yourself, you and your caddie, it’s the best.”
2
SOT JIMMY WALKER: “It’s different for everybody I think I mean for me right now you know
personally it’s my family, it’s my two little boys. It’s a lot of travel all over the country. We’ve
got a bus that we travel on and we like it.”
SOT MATT KUCHAR: “I get to be with the kids, I get to be with my wife, uh we get to uh share
in the great experience.”
NATS: “Whoa, ha ha ha, that was awesome!”
SOT MATT KUCHAR: “It makes TOUR Life a lot more fun when I get to share it with people I
love.”
SOT HUNTER MAHAN: “I get to do so many incredible things because of golf, I’ve traveled
the world, um seen incredible things, met incredible people.”
NAT HUNTER MAHAN: “Bring it in for the real thing!”
SOT HUNTER MAHAN: “Golf has given me a lot.”
TOUR Life Mini
Standup #1 Continued
AHEAD, WE WILL SEE HOW TOUR LIFE DIFFERS FOR 3 PLAYERS AT VERY DISTINCT POINTS IN
THEIR CAREERS...STARTING WITH THE ENTREPRUNER - GRAEME MCDOWELL.
GMac Feature
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “TOUR life's probably, a little more complex than most people
think. They think inside of the ropes, they think uh the glamorous side of things of being on TV
on a Sunday afternoon and leading golf tournaments. TOUR life, there's a huge amount more to
it.”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: "There's a bit of everything going on here…just a chance to
check in with everyone, spend some time, see what we got in the mix here for 2015.”
GRAEME MCDOWELL IS MANY THINGS.
AND AT THE ANNUAL PGA MERCHANDISE SHOW IN ORLANDO FLORIDA, ALL
OF THOSE THINGS ARE ON FULL DISPLAY.
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “It’s been so cool to be involved with a company right from the
conception.”
3
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “You’re talking about global brands looking for global players."
THE 2010 U.S. OPEN CHAMPION WITH 13 WORLD WIDE PROFESSIONAL WINS,
GMAC AS HE IS KNOWN IS A GLOBAL STAR AND HIS TOUR LIFE REFLECTS
THAT, ESPECIALLY ON THIS DAY.
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “Faster, easier, and making it more fun for kids, because you
know, they’re the future.”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “The PGA Show was kind of, one of those unusual events where
the golfing globe kind of settles in Orlando for the week.”
NAT GRAEME MCDOWELL “I don’t want to be that guy, but at the minute, I’m that guy.”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “A lot of people that involved in from a sponsorship point of
view, from an entrepreneurial point of view, lots and lots of different relationships all land in, in
the one place.”
NAT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “Have you got it? Perfect, we’ll catch up.”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “It's a great opportunity for me to engage with people and to
engage with things I do and the things I love just kind of all in one sorta fell swoop.”
NAT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “How we doing?”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “It was a little intense. I mean, I'm not sure I can handle that,
sort of, 24/7, but uh it was a great way to meet a lot of people, and get a lot of things done.”
NAT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “Cheese ladies.”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “A lot of selfies, I mean that's definitely the crazy thing, people
just don't just want autographs anymore, you know it's a bigger world out there with Instagram
and Facebook and Twitter and selfies are the 21st century autograph.”
HIS STATURE IN THE GAME HAS ALLOWED GMAC THE ABILITY TO DO MANY
THINGS OUTSIDE OF IT. FROM BRAND AMBASSADOR TO ENTREPRENEUR;
CHARITABLE FOUNDATION HEAD TO FAMILY MAN.
AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN.
NAT: “Are you mic'd up yet? Yeah."
NAT GRAME MCDOWELL: “We just want to say a huge thanks to you guys, just everyone
involved with the product. Cheers!”
4
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “Life is a balancing act really and it is about, giving yourself the
opportunity to achieve the things you wanna achieve in life. I have my schedule laid out in front
of me for the rest of the year and that includes playing time, corporate time, media time, family
time.”
SOT PETE DAWSON: “He's got a wonderful way with his great manner uh wonderful
ambassador for the game, very knowledgeable about the game…and boy he can play golf too.”
HIS CORPORATE DUTIES FUFILLED FOR THE TIME BEING, THE NEXT DAY,
MCDOWELL HEADS TO NEW YORK CITY TO SUPPORT HIS EVER GROWING
GMAC FOUNDATION.
A FOUNDATION AIMED AT HELPING CHILDREN'S CHARITIES BOTH IN
NORTHERN IRLEAND AND THE US.
NAT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “There you go boss.”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “This is our fourth dinner… we're kind of touching that two
million dollars mark, over four, five years …I wanted to do something that I could see and feel
and touch and see smiles on faces and really feel like I'm making a difference."
NAT GRAEME MCDOWELL: “This is something that I look forward to every year and it’s
something very special for my foundation to be a part of, so thank you guys.”
SOT GRAEME MCDOWELL: ‘First and foremost I’m a golfer and my brand will grow
exponentially if I achieve the things I want to achieve on the golf course and the other stuff is
kind of smaller fish from that point of view. Being an entrepreneur, you know, restaurants, and
beers, clothing, and kind of all those fun things. I take everything I do very seriously and it’s a
never ending balancing act.”

A TYPICAL DAY AT HOME FOR A PGA TOUR PLAYER OFFERS A CHANCE TO
RELAX, AND REFLECT…
NAT HARRIS ENGLISH: "This is the office that we put together. It's really cool to sit in here
and look around and say wow, this is, this is more than I've ever dreamed of."
NAT GEOFF OGILVY: "The one at the back is the US Open which is a little tarnished at this
point perhaps we should get the silver polish out again.”
NAT KEVIN STREELMAN: "When I won at Tampa, the TOUR actually sends a plaque with
your score cards from the actual event, and so it's kind of a cool little memento that, I'll never
forget."
6
BUT WHILE MANY PLAYERS HAVE A MAN CAVE TO DISPLAY THEIR
ACCOMPLISHMENTS, SOME USE THEIR TIME AT HOME TO GET AWAY FROM
THE GAME THEY LOVE…
SOT RORY MCILROY: "If I lived on a golf course I would struggle a little bit because it's
always there, it's right in your face. But having somewhere like this where you're right on the
water it's an easy way to get away from it."

RORY MCILROY IS ONE OF THE MANY ELITE PGA TOUR MEMBERS WHO MAKES
HIS HOME AT THE BEAR'S CLUB IN JUPITER, FLORIDA. JOINING THAT SELECT
CREW LATE LAST YEAR IS PGA TOUR ROOKIE JUSTIN THOMAS. AND AS THE 21YEAR OLD IS JUST GETTING SETTLED IN ON TOUR, HE'S NOW FAR REMOVED
FROM HIS UPBRINGING IN HIS HOMETOWN OF GOSHEN, KENTUCKY.
Justin Thomas Feature
MUSIC IN: RIPTIDE INSTRUMENTAL
SOT JUSTIN THOMAS: “It's sunny, there's not very many clouds in the sky. The options are
endless on places to play and guys to play with.”
MUSIC BREAK MONTAGE THOMAS DRIVING AROUND IN CAR
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “I love it. There's a reason I think so many guys are kind of gravitating
toward here.”
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “Hey Angie, there's a car behind us that's following me. For some
reason they want to film me today, I don't know why, but.”
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “There's not enough stuff I can learn, especially guys that are
experienced as they are. They've done a lot of things that I haven't and that I'm hoping to do at
some point so I'm just trying to learn from them uh any chance I can. I just need to be
comfortable with those guys if I'm going to be comfortable playing at the toughest stages of golf.
It's just kinda fun starting to become a part of it."
7
THOUGH THE 21 YEAR OLD IS HANGING WITH THE ELITE…HE MAY NOT BE
CONSIDERED IN THAT CLASS JUST YET. BUT HIS TRACK RECORD SHOWS
HE'S MORE THAN CAPABLE OF THAT DISTINCTION.
MUSIC CHANGE: Drake - Energy
THOMAS ENTERED HIS FRESHMAN YEAR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA
IN 2011 WITH A LOT OF HYPE. AT THE SAME TIME, JORDAN SPIETH WAS
STARTING TO MAKE HIS MARK IN THE COLLEGE RANKS, ALSO AS A
FRESHMAN.
THE 2 WOULD COME TO A HEAD AT THE END OF THE SEASON AS TEXAS AND
ALABAMA MET IN THE FINALS FOR THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP. SPIETH
BESTED THOMAS THAT DAY FOR A PIVOTAL POINT, AND ALL THOMAS
COULD DO WAS WATCH IT ALL PLAY OUT ON THE 18TH HOLE.
NAT POP OF FINAL PUTT DROPPING IN AND TEXAS REACTION
SOT JUSTIN THOMAS: “It was terrible, it was probably the first time that I actually cried from
losing. I felt like I let the team down, I felt like I let our University down, and all our fans down,
I mean it sucked, that’s really the only way to describe it.”
LATER THAT FALL, SPIETH SET OUT TO TURN PROFESSIONAL…WHILE
THOMAS DECIDED TO STICK IT OUT UNTIL HE FELT HE WAS READY.
SOT JUSTIN THOMAS: “My game may have been ready, but just my overall maturity probably
wasn't ready. I mean I was 18 years old, 19 years old. I mean I needed to grow up a little bit.”
AS THE SEASON ROLLED ALONG, THOMAS' DECISION WAS VALIDATED AS
ALABAMA WON THEIR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, REDEEMING THE
HEARTACHE OF JUST ONE YEAR PRIOR.
MUSIC CHANGE: NEEDTOBREATHE - Feet Don't Fail Me Now
SOT JUSTIN THOMAS: “It was such a cool feeling and just getting to hug coach and hug all
the guys that we experienced it with the year before, it was awesome.”
THOMAS CHOSE TO TURN PRO IN TIME FOR THE 2014 WEB.COM SEASON.
ANNOUNCE: "What a year for this young man on the Web.com Tour. The world needs to
watch out for Justin Thomas.”
AND HIS PATIENCE IS NOW PAYING DIVIDENS, AS HE'S RACKED UP 4 TOP 10'S
IN HIS DEBUT SEASON ON TOUR…
8
INCLUDING FIRING A 61 AT THE SONY OPEN IN HAWAII, TIEING HIM FOR
LOW ROUND OF THE SEASON.
SOT JORDAN SPIETH: “Justin is obviously making a splash early, incredible talent, a great
friend of mine, rooting really, really hard for him each and every week and I hope to battle it out
with him a lot.”
SOT JUSTIN THOMAS: “I feel like I can contend and win and it's just a matter of getting my
game there and you know most importantly being patient and my mental game where it needs to
be.”
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “A little windy, but we'll make it happen. Hey, gotta make the best
with what you have.”
MUSIC CHANGE: Train - Angel in Blue Jeans
TO GET HIS MIND INTO THE RIGHT MENTALITY, THOMAS LOOKS TO THE
WATER FOR SERENITY.
SOT JUSTIN THOMAS: “I've been here for just a couple months now and to have guys like
these and have access to water like this, it's hard not to take advantage of it and just kick back
and have some fun off the course sometimes.”
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “Right now we got a little right to left wind so playing a little bit of a
draw out there…just riding the wind.”
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “Such a helpless feeling casting every time just really feeling like
you're not gonna catch fish…Yeah I got nothing.”
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “But even if you don't catch fish it's always nice to come out here and
relax and hang out. I mean it's so peaceful and 75 degree weather isn't too bad either.”
NAT JUSTIN THOMAS: “Just another day in the life Jupiter, Florida right there.” Return to index of

JASON DAY FEATURE
SOT JASON DAY: “I really enjoy playing in front of a big crowd, I really enjoy the moment
where everything is on the line and you have to really step up and hit the shot…cause it really
just shows what you’ve got.”
ANNOUNCE: “Right in the hole! Victory for Jason Day!”
SOT JASON DAY: “And the ultimate goal is to get to the number one spot in the world. To be
able to be on you know the top of the mountain, it must be a nice view and over the last uh 4, 5
years it’s really shown not only in my stats but in the game that I’m slowly improving and
working towards that.”
SOT JASON DAY: “I’m very fortunate to be able to take my family on the road with me it’s a
little crazy at times um obviously uh playing professional golf and trying to balance travel and
personal life and golf and competing at a high level it can be very, very hectic.”
SOT ELLIE DAY: “Having Dash it’s just really helped him with perspective, cause at the end
of the day he kinda is forced to get out of you know the golf world when he comes home, and
Dash doesn’t know if he won or lost, he tells everybody ‘My daddy Jason Day, my daddy wins.”
ANNOUNCE: “We have a champion, Jason Day, it’s a huge step in that young man’s career to
win a world golf championship, his wife Ellie, his little guy Dash.”
SOT JASON DAY: “He loves golf, he likes seeing dad on TV, we do a lot of fun things.”
SOT ELLIE DAY: “He loves to watch cartoons with him in the morning, that’s something that
he’ll do you know every morning before he warms up and he’s trying to warm up and Dash is
tackling him every 5 seconds.”
SOT JASON DAY: “Dash is only small once, he’s only a little baby once and I don’t want to
miss him grow up. I have the opportunity to be able to be there with Dash as he grows up and be
there as a husband for Ellie and spend a lot of quality time with him.”
10
SOT JASON DAY: “If you’re not trying to get better, you’re in a plateau and you’re slowly
gunna start going backwards so you always gotta strive to try and improve yourself not only as a
golfer but as a person as well and it was good to get that win under the belt again and start off the
year great.”
ANNOUNCE: “There it is, it has been a very Good Day for Jason Day!”
SOT JASON DAY: “Every day I wake up I’m blessed because I’ve got the best job in the
world. I’ve got a good, solid team. Everyone loves me and I love them back and we’re all
working towards that goal. Obviously to get to number one in the world you need to win majors,
you need to win tournaments, you need to win consistently. It really is a fun journey to be on this
and wake up every day knowing that I could have been somewhere else but instead I get to play
on TV against the best players in the world in front of fans that wanna either be me or be the guy
that’s next to me, it’s pretty special, not many people get to do it.”

THE WEEKLY ROUTINE OF LIFE ON TOUR CAN BE A PHYSICAL AND

now in me that uh golf isn't life or death anymore. This little girl is gonna be my life now.
