About Peter F. Drucker
Management Expert, Author and Teacher
(1909 – 2005)
Peter Drucker’s career spanned more than six decades.
Valued for keen insight and the ability to convey his ideas
in popular language, Drucker authored 39 books, which
have been translated into more than 30 languages, on
organizational behavior, innovation, economy, and
society.
Central to his philosophy is the view that people are an
organization’s most valuable resource, and that a
manager’s job is to prepare and free people to perform.
Dr. Drucker cared not just about how business manages
its resources, but also how public and private
organizations operate morally and ethically within society.
Drucker’s groundbreaking work turned modern
management theory into a serious discipline, and he
influenced or created nearly ever facet of its application,
including decentralization, privatization, and
empowerment, and has coined such terms as the
“knowledge worker.”
