Bula Bula Carpe Diem Spring 2012 team HONGI!!!
Simone and Skyeler here, your team leaders for our upcoming semester in Fiji, New Zealand,
and Australia! We wanted to write to you all to formally introduce ourselves and open the doors
for any pre-trip conversations. We are both excited to meet you all individually and can't wait for
the whole team to be together for the first time. Can you believe that we are less than one month
away(!) from the beginning of our 12 week adventure together???
We also wanted to add the extra invitation for you to contact us in case you have any questions
or concerns for the upcoming semester. As you might already have started to feel, this will be a
big semester for you and we want you to come as prepared as possible: physically, mentally, and
emotionally. Any questions and concerns about the packing list, clothing, health, or anything, just
shoot us an e-mail. This might also be a way for us to open a forum to the group, so just hit "reply
all" if you have any questions for the group or even just some thoughts you would like to share.
Many of you will be arriving to the airport early and this could be a great way to start
communicating with each other to meet up before we all meet at the ticket counter. And if all you
want to do is say hi or get to know us better, go right ahead and e-mail us, we'd love to hear from
you.
Speaking of saying hi, we will be calling each of you individually on the phone within the next
couple weeks to hammer out any last minute details and answer any questions to make sure we
are all on the same page about when and where to meet in Los Angeles, etc. PLEASE reply
back to this email ASAP with a good phone number to reach you on (and confirm that this is the
best email for you) and a few days and times (also note your time zone) that you know you will be
available within the next week or so. Once we receive this info we will be calling you so be ready
with any questions at that time!
Also something to think about... feel free to bring anything that would bring the team together,
something you could teach to a teammate, or something to simply get our bodies moving around
during downtime: a musical instrument, a frisbee, juggling balls, hackysac, poi or anything you
might have up your sleeve that is fun and easy to pack.
Again, don't hesitate to contact us for anything you need help with. Good luck with the packing
and tying up of loose ends. Can't wait to meet you all soon!
All the best,
Skyeler and Simone
