PolicyFile - Offering access to U.S. foreign and domestic policy papers and gray
literature, PolicyFile is updated weekly with abstracts and links to the latest
reports, papers, and documents from think tanks, research institutes, and
agencies.
Proquest Congressional - This database indexes and abstracts a broad
spectrum of Congressional publications, including hearings (testimony),
committee prints, reports, documents, Congressional Research Services reports,
and full text of bills and public laws. The database provides full-text access to the
U.S. Statutes at Large from 1789 to the present.
Federal Digital System. Free access to wealth of information published by US
Government.
Statistics
Proquest’s Statistical Insight - With one search, you can
examine the statistical output from a vast number of sources – more than 200
federal agencies, 50 state governments, 100 international intergovernmental
organizations, and 500 private and academic sources––all through one query.
Proquest’s Statistical DataSets – This is an interactive database that allows
users to create tables and figures from a variety datasets. International data,
available at the country level, include foreign labor statistics, persons
obtaining legal permanent resident status, population change, trade balance, US
trade by commodity group, and data from the UN Economic Commission for
Europe, World Resource Institute, and World Bank. Data holdings for the United
States are significant with some data available at state, county, and local
geographies. Data are organized by subject and source. Results can be viewed
as a table, a customizable chart, or in map format.
FedStats (www.fedstats.gov) - provides access to the full range of official
statistical information produced by the Federal Government without having to
know in advance which Federal agency produces which particular statistic. With
convenient searching and linking capabilities to more than 100 agencies that
provide data and trend information on such topics as economic and population
trends, crime, education, health care, aviation safety, energy use, farm
production and more, FedStats is your one location for access to the full breadth
of Federal statistical information. Warning: This hasn’t been updated since
2009.

USA.gov: The U.S. Government’s Official Web Portal (http://www.usa.gov/) this definitive website for government information provides access to over 51
million federal, state, local, and tribal governmental web pages with more pages
added every day.
State Agency Databases
(http://wikis.ala.org/godort/index.php/State_Agency_Databases) - In every US
State and the District of Columbia, agencies are creating databases of useful information information on businesses, licensed professionals, plots of land, even dates of fish
stocking. Since July 2007, librarians and other government information specialists have
been working on identifying and annotating these databases in one place.
