Some of our projects will include painting, making scented playdough, and making gingerbread ornaments. We also will be reading lots of books about winter and learning some new winter songs. We still plan to go outside for our walks around town (weather permitting). Toddler This month the toddlers will be focusing on hibernation and the holidays. Our board this month will be a spin-off of the book “Whose Tracks Are These?” by Jim Nail. Please feel free to come check out whose tracks are on our board. Some of our projects will include a paper plate bear, stained glass dreidel, Kufi hats, and a Santa sleigh. Some books we will read are, “Time For Sleep”, “Hibernation Station”, and “The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell”. Preschool This December we will be reading an assortment of Jan Brett books. “The Hat” and “The Mitten” are great books for children who don’t like to wear outdoor winter clothing, and “The Gingerbread Baby” is a huge favorite. We will be teaching the children how to put on our outdoor clothing in order; snowpants first, then boots, jacket, hat and lastly mittens. If you can encourage the same order at home it will greatly help. We also will be teaching the “coat trick” to your children. I will be happy to show anyone who is interested. We will be decorating a gingerbread house for the annual family place Gingerbread Festival. Our house this year will be “Elf’s Vacation Cottage”. We will also be making our own gingerbread men. We have welcomed Maison Coburn to our class and said goodbye to Xander Ryon and Abel Mayotte. Have A Great Holiday Season!
