Day Two
This day is developed around the idea that instructors
are sharing stories and legends with their students. The
stage can set by having students imagine the hideous
weather or extreme elevation requires you to rest.
During the long winter nights, and evenings around the
campfire, one of the favorite forms of entertainment
amongst the Mountain Men was storytelling and The
story teller was granted license to stretch the truth in
any way so long as the story was interesting. To have a
reputation among mountain men as a "Liar" was an
extreme compliment. However, the lives of the
Mountain Men and Women are often so extraordinary
that it isn't necessary to stretch reality in any way.
Included is a collection of real-life stories and historical
facts from true mountaineers

Predator and Prey
Based on animal behavior in the natural world
Predator and Prey is an activity that changes
elements of the classic game of Hide and Seek.
Instead of one person running around to find
everyone else, here the "seeker" (or "prey")
stays put and the "hiders" (or "predators") sneak
up on him or her.
Obstacle? Of Course!
Students participate in a
fun obstacle course to see
if they can balance like a
goat, crawl like a snow
leopard, jump like an
ibex, and win a race to
the finish!
Day Four
Home Sweet Dome! Make a Geodesic
Den
Domes are nature's perfect structure and
provide a unique environment for every use.
And inexpensive geodesic domes make great
survival shelters for many different ecosystems!
Students learn about domes and then build
their own!
