If you have not picked up your school pictures in the Library, please check the
announcements on the school TV as names will be scrolled.
GUIDANCE
1. Representatives from the following College/University will be visiting our campus in
October within the next 2 weeks. Please mark your calendars and visit them and receive
important information.

 Belmont Abbey College-Tuesday, November 3, 12:00-2:00, in the Cafeteria Lobby
All Students-The American Legion Post #522 is sponsoring the American Legion High
School Oratorical Scholarship Program. This is “A Constitutional Speech Contest” to
develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the
part of the high school students. A contestant must give both their oration and the assigned
topic discourse in order to receive the scholarship. Interested students must have their
completed oration to guidance by Tuesday, December 1st . For more information please
come the Guidance office or go to www.legion.org/oratorical .
*Students and Staff~ To support our college application day which is Thursday, November
5th , please wear your favorite college tee or sweatshirt.
JUNIORS
SENIORS
1. Attention Seniors interested in Nursing. On November the 9th, Forsyth Tech will host an
information session on the RIBN program for parents and students. RIBN students are dually
enrolled at Forsyth Tech and Winston Salem State and graduate with a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing. This program is an affordable alternative to 4 years at a state school. If you cannot
make the session at Forsyth Tech, a representative will be at West on November the 16th
between 12 and 2 at the Career Fair. See Mrs. Hale in Guidance for more information.
SPORTS
TITAN Inter-Club Council
1. SLC is sponsoring a Canned Food Drive to benefit Clemmons Food Pantry. Our goal this
year is 20,000 cans which can be donated through your third period teacher. Clubs and

organizations are also welcome to donate. Each week prizes will be given away for the
class with the most cans. First week- donut party, second week - bundt cake party, third
week-pizza party. If we reach our school goal, you will be able to see Mr. White dance
with the Mance team and get to see Mr. Mac shave his head. So bring in as many cans as
you can to donate!!! Remember West is the Best!!!
Calling all math nerds!!!! Math ACE will have it's organizational meeting Monday,
November 2nd at 3:50 in room 401. Come and be a part of the fun!
SOCIAL STUDIES Academic Competition has BEGUN! Meet at 3:50 in room 708 (Ms.
Martin's Room) on Wednesday, November 4th to see what the fun is all about.
*There will be a Science Honor Society meeting in room 202 at 3:45 pm on Wednesday,
November 4th.
*The ACE General Knowledge team will hold an informational meeting and first practice
on Thursday from 3:45-4:45 in room 1018. If you know what the holes is Swiss cheese are
called, and you can name the NC state flower, the ACE General Knowledge team is for you
(eyes and dogwood).
*Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA/FCS) will be meeting this Wednesday morning at
8:15 AM, November 4, in the old gym. We're looking forward to great worship with
everyone. All students are invited!

WEST FORSYTH HIGH SCHOOL PTSA
PTSA Membership: Thank you to everyone that has joined the PTSA this year! We now have 577
members and are well on our way of reaching our goal of 800+ members.
Titan Direct Donation: Please consider making a direct donation to our school. Our goal this year
is to raise $15,000 to be used towards the purchase of a second Laptop Cart that will benefit the
entire school. All families that donate $25 or more will receive a free West Forsyth car magnet
(while supplies last).
Volunteer Opportunities: We invite you to join our team of West PTSA volunteers! WE NEED
YOU!!! If you are interested, please complete the volunteer section on the PTSA membership form
and turn it in to the front office. Thanks for your support!
Seniors: A reminder to SENIORS that scholarship money is available for PTSA members (seniors
must be a current PTSA member to be eligible to apply for the scholarship).
