***Each group (2 people max) is responsible for researching and reporting out the information
on one of the following syndromes/disorders:
Down Syndrome
Turner Syndrome
XXX Syndrome
Klinefelter Syndrome XXY

Albinism
ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
Cri-Du-Chat
Angelman’s
Sickle-Cell
Hemophilia
Huntington’s Disease
Albinism
Taysach
Muscular Dystrophy
Phenylketonuria
Marfan Syndrome
Fragile X
Edward syndrome
*If there is a syndrome/disease you are interested, but not on the list--ask your teacher.
***There will be a sign up sheet available--each topic can only be chosen once.
***Your format can be a poster, powerpoint, or prezi.
***You need to answer these questions in your research (Needs to be in your own words, no
copy and pasting!!!!!):
1) Name of syndrome/disorder and short background information (include a picture).
2) What is the inheritance pattern/causes? Show by using a Punnett Square
3) What is the Karyotype, you must have an image with a description.
4) What are the signs/symptoms of the disorder/syndrome?
5) How serious is the disorder/syndrome?
6) How prevalent is the syndrome/disorder (how common is it in different population?)
7) Is the syndrome/disorder treatable?
8) Discuss cell division and your disease-
***Upon completion of your research, you will do a gallery walk visiting each group. You will
answer the following questions1) Describe the inheritance pattern (Punnet square is acceptable)
2) Which chromosomes are affected in the karyotype and how so?
