Further Information
Closing Dates
There is no formal closing date for direct applications and the College will always consider applications, subject to
the availability of places. Early application is advised.
Selection Process
When your application form arrives at the College, it will be reviewed by an admissions tutor. Selection is based
initially on academic qualifications and/or previous experience, reference and your supporting statement. London
College of Fashion prefers to interview applicants wherever possible and the majority of interviews take place
between January and July. From the interview, the course team decides which students are to be selected on to
the course. In some cases the offer of a place may be conditional and dependent on students passing required
examinations. In all cases the decision of the course team is final.
Portfolios
Students who have applied to design based courses will be asked to bring a portfolio of art work with them to
interview. Portfolios should contain examples of work in different media completed in the last two years and can
include photos or slides of large scale work or make up projects. It is not essential that all the work within the
portfolio is finished. Portfolios enable tutors to gain an idea of a student’s creative potential and imagination as well
as their technical skills. London College of Fashion treats portfolios with great respect and takes every care of
them. However, no responsibility can be accepted for the loss or damage of any work.
